Welcome! This is the home page for the Family Fun Ring, a group of family oriented web sites all linked together in a circular fashion. The idea is to link together web pages made by families and/or created for families. I will try to monitor the ring often, as to be sure that all sites are appropriate for families and children. Special thanks goes to Sage Weil and the original WebRing, without whom this Family Fun Ring would not exist!

    How to Join the Ring

  • Save a copy of the two Family Fun Ring graphics you see below. I called the one on the left funring-small.gif and the one on the right nextffsite.gif.
  • Add the below HTML fragment to your home page. View the HTML Code to place on your Home Page

  • Change the e-mail address and name so that they are your own.
  • Make sure the fragment points to images on your own site. The Family Fun Ring link, however, should still point to http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/3421/funring.html.
  • Fill out the below form to register your site and write down the Site ID number you are assigned. This will put your page in the Family Fun Ring 'Queue', where it will remain until someone adds you to the ring. This does not insert you in the ring; the actual insertion is done later.
    Your page's URL:

    Your e-mail address:

  • Change the four references to http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/3421/funring.html (one on the nextffsite.gif image and the other three a bit further down) so that the id= is followed by your Site ID number. For example, if your site ID is 123, the href should be something like http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=famfun&id=123amp;next.
  • E-mail the Ringmaster, Blossom, at: blossom@geocities.com site and ask her to add you to the ring. Be sure to include your Site ID Number in the e-mail message. She will want to look at your page to make sure it is worthy of addition and make sure the Family Fun Ring HTML fragment on your page is okay.
  • After checking out your page, the ringmaster will take your Site ID Number and use it to add you to the ring. You should then receive an e-mail telling you you've been added.
  • That's it! You should now be able to navigate the entire ring until to make it back to your own page (although it may take a while). An easy way to make sure it is working is to go to the homepage of the person who added you and see if the next button takes you to your own page.
