On The Shore of Lake Ontario

Orleans County New York

My family is fortunate to live on the beautiful south shore of Lake Ontario, about halfway between Niagara Falls and Rochester, NY. Our house is nestled in a woods on a small point near the Oak Orchard River. The area got it's name because it was so heavily treed with giant red oaks that the early settlers named it "Oak Orchard". In fact, it was so dense with these massive trees that even the mid-day sun was blocked by the foliage prompting the Native Americans to call it the "Black North"

Our black lab "Rocky" enjoyed being
in the lake most of all.

This is my first attempt at building a website
and it will probably always be "Under Construction" because I'm always adding to it.

Thank you Dr. Draac for most of the images and Ann for most
of the music on my original pages.

Thank you Dave and Uncle Fester for scanning the
photos for me.

Thanks to Orleans County for providing some of the links on these pages.

And a special thanks to Rexy for making my banner and to Dudette for all the help when I first started these pages.
