Hex Hector Production:

door Hex Hector started DJing
at the age of 14 with a Hip-Hop group he had formed
called Little Man Crew. His good friend Robert
Clivillés (from C+C Music Factory) helped him
to step in the remix industry with a first remix
experience on a LISA LISA track. For this first
shot, he teamed up with programmer Darrin Friedman
with whom he later made a few remixes under the
name of SPIKE PRODUCTIONS.
Next step was his collaboration, back in 1996,
with Bobby Guy and Ernie Lake (a.k.a. SOUL SOLUTION)
on a track called "The Lover That You Are" by
PULSE. This remix got played by great DJs such
as JR Vasquez, Franckie Knuckles and Jonathan
Peters and caught the attention of famous Arista
A&R Hosh Gureli who hired the team to remix
TONI BRAXTON's "Un-Break My Heart".
They applied their TRIBAL PERCUSSIVE sound over
Toni's voice and the remix became a huge success.
Hex's career was launched. He then created his
own label : GROUND CONTROL PRODUCTIONS and teamed
up with talented programmer MAC QUAYLE with who
he built his first masterpieces. His 1997 remix
of DEBORAH COX's "Things Just Ain't The Same"
is commonly pointed out as the one which offered
recognition as a top remixer to Hex and a club
Diva condition to Deborah. To satisfy the increasing
request for remixes, Hex teamed up with another
programmer : Desi "DEZROK" Caruso, as far back
as 1998. Him and MAC QUAYLE became his two full-time
partners.
Since then, HEX HECTOR has been producing stunningly
brilliant remixes for many artists of the likes
of WHITNEY HOUSTON, DEBORAH COX, ARETHA FRANKLIN,
DIANA ROSS, LISA STANSFIELD, GEORGE MICHAEL, JENNIFER
LOPEZ, GLORIA ESTEFAN and many more

"Mr. Miami International 2003."

Tickets: $50 per person DJ JRNY
- Miami Beach has long been recognized as a creative
playground for up and comers in the entertainment
industry. Many of today's biggest stars in the
Music and DJ scene were discovered while honing
their trade in its legendary nightclubs. Striving
to follow in the footsteps of such luminaries
as Danny Tenaglia and Victor Calderone comes South
Florida native, DJ JRNY.
Jose Reyes, producing under the acronym JRNY (pronounced
'Journey'), was born in Puerto Rico in 1974 but
spent much of his teen years living in Chicago,
Miami and New York. Showing an affinity for the
underground punk lifestyle early on, Jose, who
taught himself how to play drums and guitar and
was invited to join several garage bands over
the course the 80's and early 90's. During that
time, he learned the essentials of song writing
and the music industry in general. That strong
foundation would eventually assist him in obtaining
a recording contract with one of today's most
sought after producers and would land him coveted
residencies at South Beach's most selective hot
spots.
Jose has been a staple of the South Beach scene
since the heydays of the legendary Liquid Nightclub
where he was first introduced to Madonna's producer
and DJ to the stars, Victor Calderone. Victor
was a driving force behind Jose's will to create
music and was a great source of support and inspiration
throughout. In 2000, one of Jose's first remix
attempts, Celeda's "The Underground", caught Victor's
ear and was subsequently featured in his White
Party set. Word of the mix spread quickly and
eventually got the attention of Peter Rauhofer
who owned the recordings label, Star 69 Records.
Peter, who had just won a Grammy award for Remixer
of the year, recognized the upcoming talent and
was curious to hear more from the young producer.
A collaboration with longtime associate Mitch
Amtr@k resulted in the underground smash 'Alright!
Strobelight!' which Peter signed immediately and
subsequently resulted in Jose's first hit recording.
The track entered Billboard as #3 Breakout in
January 2002. The label was thirsty for more.
While in New York finalizing work on "Strobelight",
Jose spent spare time working on new productions.
An aquaintance had slipped him a mesmerizing vocal
from another Miami resident, Ceevox. The vocal
was a cover version of the Gladys Knight classic
'My Imagination'. Ceevox's powerful vocal prowess
inspired JRNY and in just 3 days, Jose would complete
what would be his first billboard hit. The mix
was an instant smash and the song stayed in the
Billboard Dance Chart's top 10 for over 7 weeks
peaking at number 3. Additional support from DJ's
and Producers like Junior Vasquez and Thunderpuss
helped "My Imagination" became one of the biggest
dance songs of the year and put JRNY's name on
the map for good.
Soon, every club in South Beach wanted this hot
new Producer behind their turntables. Calls came
pouring in from the promoters of the cities most
elite party spaces. JRNY is currently a monthly
resident at both Crobar's hugely popular Anthem
on Sundays and Friday at Level for Federation/1235
on South Beach's infamous Washington Avenue. He
has been the headliner for Jeffrey Sanker at Miami's
Billboard and will also be featured by Jeffrey
at this years Gay Days at Disney, Orlando. Jose
has also been invited on several occasions to
open for Peter Rauhofer at the world famous Roxy
nightclub in New York City and has been a guest
of Victor Calderone as well, opening for him at
events all over South Florida. Other dates include
LA's Palace for 'Spin', and Fire Island's legendary
Pines Tea Dance.
The future looks bright for JRNY. There are many
new productions in the works including follow
up's to both "My Imagination" and "Alright! Strobelight!"
and the release of his newest production " I Give
You Light". He will also be the next DJ to beat
mix a compilation for Peter Rauhofer's "This is
Star 69" series and plans have been made for a
full length LP of new material sometime in the
near future. Upcoming live tour dates will include
some of the most sought after DJ gigs in Miami,
New York, Fire Island, Los Angeles, Toronto and
Israel.
Jose continues to push forward in his attempts
of obtaining his dream of world club domination.
It is a calling that cannot go unanswered. "There
is nothing more fulfilling than knowing thousands
of people are being moved by your music and you're
making a living out of doing what you love. If
it all had to end tomorrow, at least you had the
chance to make people happy" Hopefully, we'll
be taking this JRNY for years to come.

- Born in Lausanne, Switzerland Ivano had music
in his blood. Ivano Bellini was among a small
crop of European DJs to hit the chic South Beach
circuit.
At the time the only place to go and hear the
latest house music was the gay nightclubs. Ivano
wanted to educate his audience on the hottest
music and bring that same feeling of the gay clubs
to the rest of the South Beach scene makers.
Soon he was playing at legendary South Beach nightclubs
such as "Le Loft", "Van Dome", "Dune", "Bash",

Bellini's fierce beats attracted a celebrity following
as well.
Stars like Madonna, Prince, Leonardo DiCaprio,
Al Pacino, George Clooney, Jack Nicholson, Mick
Jagger, Puff Daddy, Dennis Rodman, Marilyn Manson
& Lennox Lewis, just to name a few, came to
hear his signature sounds.

to be eagerly requested by many European clubs

to spin in clubs such as "It" in Amsterdam, "MAD"
in Switzerland, "VIP" in St. Tropez, Zenith@"Pacha"
in Ibiza and "Via Notte" in Corsica to name a
few.
These were some of the most sizzling nightclubs
in Europe that to this day still remain destination
points for the world's jet set. His travels even
brought him to countries like Colombia, Chili,
Ecuador and Bali. He also toured the US on a regular
basis to appear in clubs such as "Glow" &
"Crobar" (Chicago), "Plush" & "Velvet Lounge"
in Atlanta, "South Beach" in Minneapolis, "Rio"
in Las Vegas, "True" and the legendary "Studio
54" in New York.
His numerous gigs gave him the opportunity to
work alongside other world renowned DJs such as
Moby, Danny Tenaglia, Carl Cox, Paul Van Dyk,
DJ Tiesto, Deep Dish, Laurent Garnier, Timo Maas,
Roger Sanchez, Armand Van Helden, Danny Rampling,
Robbie Rivera, Josh Wink, DJ Jean, DJ Pippi, and

Nikki Beach Spinning:
Alyson Calagna After
a day of celebrating Thanksgiving, the night belongs
to the White Starz party.
Visitors and locals alike flock to this spectacular
event as the White Party weekend momentum begins
to take shape and the marathon party schedule
gets into full swing.
Tickets: $20.00 Tickets can now only
be purchased at the White Party Welcome Center
located at the Royal Palm Crowne Plaza Hotel 1545
Collins Avenue, Miami Beach. DJ
Alyson Calagna- Calagna discovered a love
for music at an early age. Part of her childhood
was spent living in Aberdeen, Scotland at which
time she was first exposed to house music. This
music sparked something inside of her and from
the first moment she heard it, she was hooked.
By the age of 16, she was living in Lafayette,
Louisiana when she found a natural calling to
the turntables. Within a short time, she was granted
the opportunity for a residency at Images Nightclub
due to her increasing popularity and sound. At
Images she developed her playing style and honed
her skills with the tables. In 1998, she won second
place in the DDK spin off in Atlanta, Georgia
and had a seat on the panel for the Nightclub
and Bars Convention in Orlando.
In April 1999, she won first place in the WPOW
Power 96.5 spin off in Miami, Florida. Her prize
was a spot on a weekly radio show where she became
a Hot Mix DJ showcasing her talents for the residents
of Miami. Ready to return home to Louisiana, she
accepted a residency at Club 735 in New Orleans.
After one year at Club 735, the buzz about this
powerhouse talent began to spread and as a result,
she was booked at various nightclubs on the East
Coast. This exposure was just the beginning for
the now jet setting jock.
The dance floors she has conquered include: Salvation-South
Beach, Eagle-Pittsburgh, Fusion-Atlanta, Crobar-South
Beach, Heaven-Orlando, Velvet Nation-Washington
D.C., Release-San Francisco, and Level-South Beach.
She has also spun at Circuit Events such as Change
of Seasons in Atlanta, Masquerade in Minnesota,
Southern Decadence and Halloween in New Orleans,
White Party and Winter Party in Miami.
She is currently a Billboard reporter and has
been voted Up and Coming DJ for 2002 by Circuit
Party Insanity. Alyson has made a name for herself
by infusing her signature long overlays, fierce
sampling and seamless looping to create a style
of her own. She also uses her strong intuition
to connect with the dance floor and atmosphere
of the room. Alyson's ability to work the EQ's
and her unique way of adding effects on the fly
proves that she has what it takes to be a future
producer.
From global sensual grooves to manic Latin rhythms,
this up and coming DJ is making her mark on the
music world.

of New York City, David currently calls Atlanta
his new home. After holding a residency at both
Roxy and Limelight in New York City, David accepted
an exclusive Saturday night residency at TWILO
in the autumn of 1999, where he played monthly
with Junior Vazquez until TWILO closed in May,
2001.
Although David is mostly recognized for his multi-layered
anthemic vocals, you're always sure to get some
one-of-a-kind, on-the-spot productions that will
blow away even the most sophisticated ear. Playing
a musical program that always pleases everyone
in his audience, David is often referred to as,
"The People's DJ."
David's most famous credits include: Miami White
Party at Vizcaya (12 yrs), Montreal's Black &
Blue Military Ball, The Saint Black Party, Amnesia's
Annual New Year's Party, Pensacola's Memorial
Day Weekend, Miami's Winter Party Weekend, Chicago's
IML, San Francisco's Hell Ball, Palm Springs White
Party Weekend, Disney's Beach Ball at Typhoon
Lagoon, New York's Pride Pier Dance, and New Orleans
Halloween. When not playing major Circuit parties,
David is busy nearly every weekend at gigs in
Washington DC, Miami, Toronto, Denver, Dallas,
New Orleans, San Francisco, Boston, Montreal,
and Atlanta, to name a few. His international
credits include Amsterdam, Mykonos, Sydney, Tel
Aviv, Tokyo, and Costa Rica.
David's several CDs include: The White Party-Anniversary
Edition, The White Party 2000, White Party Party
2001, Global Grooves Dignity, and Global Groove:
Livin' Out Loud.
David was considered one of the six top and most
influencial DJs in America by Gentlemen's Quarterly
Magazine, where he was featured in the July, 2000
issue. He was also featured in a film documentary
on Global DJs in 2002 that included peers Danny
Tenaglia, Junior Vazquez, Eddie X and Victor Calderone.
Tony Moran - Tony Moran's career began
in 1981 when he and friend Albert Cabrera teamed
to create a whole new step in the record making
process. Together they were The Latin Rascals,
whose re-edited versions of hit songs spliced
together enjoyed major air-play on New York dance
radio WKTU's popular mix show.
The radio exposure led to a deal from Shakedown
Studios who hired the duo to restructure popular
hit radio songs into viable dance club hits. Shortly
thereafter, they were contracted by another studio,
Fever Records, to write and produce a song for
one of their new acts, The Cover Girls. The result
was "Show Me", a song that not only became Tony
Moran's first Top 40 gold record but also helped
to usher in the "freestyle" era of music. This
opened the doors for new artists including TKA,
Safire ("Boy I've Been Told"), and Lisette Melendez
("Together Forever"), all of whom benefited from
the skillful hands of Moran and Cabrera.
Tony Moran credits his freestyle background for
the pop sensibility he incorporates into his music
today. "Playing music that generates a feel-good
energy is what I love about being a DJ/mix master,"
explains Tony. He eschews the strict underground
house mentality preferred by many of his contemporaries
and instead prefers to impart his remixes and
productions with a hook laden commercial appeal
that is both radio friendly and dance floor ready.
Tony measures a successful dance floor with the
number of hands in the air - not just dancing,
but singing along too. "Dance music
is where my heart is. Over the last year I've
worked on developing dance music that is also
pop music. Working with artists like Donna Summer
(Epic Records), Kevin Aviance (Emerge Records)
and Becky Baeling (MCA) has been really exciting
for me."
Tony recently completed the score for the independent
film Circuit, which features the recently released
title track "How Many" by Taylor Dayne. He has
released three mix CDs from Centaur Records: Global
Groove: House, Global Groove: A Deeper Heart and
Party Groove: Hotlanta which was released in September,
2002: and his compilation CD, Rise, which was
released in December 2002. He also remains busy
writing new material for Luther Vandross, Celine
Dion, Barry Manilow and Jon Secada.

Robert was mostly a self taught DJ. Before he
ever stepped foot in a DJ booth he started his
career playing for private parties as a mobile
DJ. Robert began working at The Underground record
store in Miami and there learned a lot about music
and the industry. After The Underground he moved
on to the world famous Y&T Records right in
the heart of Miami Beach. Home of the Winter Music
Conference, Y&T Records was where Robert assisted
some of the Nations top DJ’s like Danny Tenaglia
and Peter Rauhofer.
Robert’s first club gig was for The Waterfront
where he played Latin House Music, it was there
that Robert built an amazing night that later
got him gigs at Splash, Ozone, Gadyva, Cactus,
Gspot, Escuelita just to name a few. Robert was
the originator of Café con Leche nights in Miami.
Getting away from the Latin side of music, Robert
started to develop his style in house music. He
remembers Peter Rauhofers productions being an
inspiration to him in the beginning of his career.
Robert would describe his sound to be a mixure
of progressive, Underground House and Tribal.
He has been like a permanent fixture in Miami’s
club scene for over 10 years. He has been a headliner
for some of Miami’s world known clubs such as
Billboard Live, Salvation, Level and Liquid. Places
outside of Miami include The Copa, The Saint and
The Sea Monster in Fort Lauderdale. Robert has
also rocked the house in Boston and New Orleans
and many more. Some of Robert’s most current residencies
included Steel and Pump Afterhours and is currently
holding residencies at Score, Club Maze Sunday
morning parties and Unbound Afterhours.
Robert is relentless; music is his way of life.
As a father he is successfully able to juggle
his life at home and his life at work. Many would
say that Robert is known for been very confidant
and his mixing to be flawless. He has an extremely
loyal following and plays for the people. Robert
has the amazing ability to read the dance floor,
sending his dance floor into the ultimate dance
experience and always leaving them wanting more.
Robert is currently working on the next step in
his career. He will start working on music production.
It is clear that with the years of experience,
talent and dedication Robert’s productions will
all be incredible. DJ Adien -What
started out as a hobby for South African born
and raised Adien has now turned into a full-fledged
passion and obsession. Her African flavour shines
through in meticulously woven sets of tribal,
progressive and tech-house.
The transition from a career as a marine geophysicist
to a house music DJ might seem like a reach but
the passion is fueled by the same fire that burns
in this African Heart.
After recently relocating from Vancouver, BC to
Miami Beach, Florida her music career was jump
started by an invitation to spin at the highly
sought after National DJ Showcase for Winterparty
’03. Adien has also performed at numerous world
renowned clubs such as Space 34, Avalon and Spi
Club.
After merely spinning seriously a little over
a year Adien’s rapidly growing success has built
her a reputation for staying true to the sound
of the underground, infiltrating and touching
the very core that moves your soul.
In her short-lived musical career Adien has played
at several major parties including Winterparty
’03, Summercamp (Provincetown) ’03, Toronto Pride
’03 and Will Gorges’ Blackball in LA. Highlights
of upcoming gigs include the Karamu (South Africa),
Winterparty and Summercamp in Provincetown (July
4th 2004).

Peter Rauhofer - When it comes to
achievements within the worldwide dance music
scene, Peter Rauhofer has few equals. A lauded
producer, remixer, DJ and label owner, he has
spent the last fifteen years building his own
magical mini-empire.
Thanks to his Midas touch in all departments he
currently represents a solid part of the city’s
electronic establishment and has been recognized
by the global electronic cognoscenti as a true
heavyweight in his various fields. After all,
who else can say they’ve remixed everyone from
Madonna to Yoko Ono, enjoyed a multitude of massive
club and chart hits, run a world famous record
label, hosted one of New York City’s most thrilling
club nights AND won a prestigious Grammy award
for their studio talents?
Such success is perhaps even more impressive given
that Peter was born and raised in Vienna, Austria
at a time when the music industry there was severely
restricted and musical innovation and entrepreneurship
rare. But although the main musical legacy of
his country had been classical (Strauss) and mainstream
pop (Falco), an underground dance scene did emerge
in the early eighties.
His efforts were duly rewarded when one day a
record store near his school offered him a job.
Not long after he began working for premier Austrian
imprint Gig records. Through the store he started
to get turned on to the sound of the early house
and techno records coming in from Chicago and
Detroit.
He began to DJ at Vienna’s only real underground
club U4, playing his underground sounds to “a
mix of punks, mods, poppers and all sorts smoking
joints…it was dirty, underground and fucked up,
but it was stylish too.”
While he was busy introducing dance music to Vienna,
he was also busy manufacturing hit records for
Gig, learning to balance mainstream success with
underground credibility. Several people he knew
were learning their way around studios in Vienna,
so Peter hit upon the idea of putting together
a compilation which featured local artists. Two
of the people he bought into the studio were Kruder
and Dorfmeister, who met through Peter for the
first time! In fact, Peter’s first attempt at
production was a collaboration with Richard Dorfmeister
under the pseudonym of Danube Dance, but it was
his own hit ‘Let Me Be Your Underwear’ (as Club
69) that made his name back in 1992.
Peter moved to the Big Apple in 1995, with two
Club 69 LP’s (‘Adults Only’ and ‘Style’) and several
more club and chart successes (“Diva”, “Unique”,
“Drama”, “Alright”, “Muscles”, and “Twisted” to
name but a few) already under his belt. His first
singing was with Tribal America in 1994, but when
that label folded he moved to Twisted, recording
another album as Size Queen and remixing the likes
of Funky Green Dogs and Danny Tenaglia, mostly
under the Club 69 banner. As the remix work started
to come in from the majors, Peter began using
his own name.
He started with the Eurythmics and Depeche Mode
and quickly went onto mega-stars like Madonna
(‘Nothing Really Matters’, ‘Impressive Instant’,
‘Skin’) and the Pet Shop Boys, with whom he reworked
Raze’s 1989 classic ‘Break 4 Love’. In 2000 he
won a prestigious Grammy in the Remixer of the
Year category, following in the footsteps of veterans
like David Morales and Frankie Knuckles.
In 1999, Peter realized another goal: starting
his own imprint. Although an independently run
operation, Star 69 today boasts the kind of roster
that wouldn’t look out of place on a major: Pet
Shop Boys, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Yoko Ono,
Lula, house diva Suzanne Palmer, and underground
sensation Celeda are just some of the artists
associated to the label, and there are plenty
more signing in the pipeline.
With 40 releases so far from Star 69, things are
only going to get bigger as Peter’s focus on the
label becomes stronger.

Tracy Young Production:
P.M. Parties
Tickets: $45 per person
Tickets can now only be purchased at the
White Party Welcome Center located at the Royal
Palm Crowne Plaza Hotel 1545 Collins Avenue, Miami
Beach. Tracy Young - To make
it in the cutting edge and equally cut throat
industry of club DJs and music mixers, you have
to be versatile, innovative, and adaptable. With
her finger on the pulse of partygoers across the
Eastern seaboard, DJ Tracy Young proves that she
has what it takes to rule over the dance floors
across the globe.
Fresh, energetic, and wildly creative, Tracy is
frequently sought out by some of America's hottest
nightclubs and celebrities to work her magic.
Her potent blend of House, Tribal and Dance rhythms
started to garner attention over ten years ago
when she began her career as a DJ in college in
the nation's capital.
Eager to explore the booming Miami music scene
and to hone her craft, Tracy left Washington DC
for South Beach in 1998. As one of the only female
DJs at the time, her sound and look was noticed
immediately upon arrival in Miami.
Her big break came when her unique sound caught
the ear of nightclub impresario Ingrid Casares,
who asked Tracy to DJ at her nightclub, Liquid.
Wildly impressed, Ingrid asked Tracy to become
Liquid's Friday night resident DJ.
Soon, With a radio show on one of the area's hottest
radio stations, Power 96 and a weekly gig at South
Beach's trendiest club, Tracy was a sensation;
Ocean Drive magazine soon hailed her as the Next
Big Thing and TeenPeople featured her for her
sense of style.
Tracy would not disappoint. With Ocean Drive,
People, and Liquid in her corner, Tracy entered
the recording studio to begin remixing and sampling.
Two of her first efforts, Enrique Iglesias' "Bailamos"
and "Rhythm Divine" received national radio play.
She followed up by remixing Simply Red's "Ain't
That a lot of Love," "I Don't Know What You Want
but I Can't Give it Anymore" by the Pet Shop Boys,
Columbia Records' Artist Movida's "Do You Feel
Me?" and recently the first single from Stevie
Nicks in seven years - "Planets of the Universe"
-which found its way to #1 on the Billboard magazine's
DANCE charts.
Tracy's talent for remixing has spread quickly
throughout the music industry and enticed Cyndi
Lauper to request Tracy to remix her new single,
"Shine." As of late, Tracy's has remixed the Top
5 worldwide smash "Whenever, Wherever" by Sony
Music artist Shakira and Pink's follow-up to her
massive #1 hit "Let's Get The Party Started" -
"Don't Let Me Get Me", which is soon to be massive
as well.
In addition to spending time in the studio, Young
is frequently called upon by a veritable who's
who of celebrities to DJ their parties, including
Lenny Kravitz, Ricky Martin, MTV's House of Style
10th Anniversary Party, MTV's Sisqo's Shakedown,
P. Diddy / Sean "Puffy" Combs, Anna Sui, Lauryn
Hill, and Madonna, who sought Young out to DJ
her Millennium Eve Party.
Madonna was so impressed with Young that she asked
her to spin at the premiere of the "Next Best
Thing" as well as the record release party for
"Music" in Los Angeles and her own nuptials in
Scotland. Madonna further rewarded Young for her
talent by asking Young to remix three singles,
"Music," "Don't Tell Me" and "What It Feels Like
for a Girl" from her album "Music". Then when
it came time for Madonna to assemble her second
greatest hits package - GHV2 - Madonna personally
called on Tracy to formulate a medley of the superstar's
best tracks.
Tracy's popularity even reached the White House.
Former Vice-president Al Gore, asked Tracy to
play at a Democratic rally in Miami where she
shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Deborah Cox,
and Jon Bon Jovi. In the Fall on 2001, Tracy was
called upon by N'SYNC to spin her energizing beats
at their South Beach benefit concert.
In 2002 Tracy took a mini tour of Australia where
she had the honour of playing at the 2002 Mardi
Gras festivities. Tracy has headlined two after
parties at Miami's new "hotspot" - Billboard Live,
the Easter Party in Palm Springs plus DJ performances
in exotic locales like Mexico, Columbia &
the Czech Republic.
Such exceptional opportunities speak to Young's
astonishing talent and inevitable recognition
as one of music's finest, brightest & exciting
DJs.

Spinning: Roland Belmares End
the week with the White Party's official closing
party - Relax!
Tickets: $20 per person Tickets can
now only be purchased at the White Party Welcome
Center located at the Royal Palm Crowne Plaza
Hotel 1545 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach.
DJ Roland Balmares - One fateful night
in Austin, 1996, a young man found himself surrounded
by flashing strobe lights, thousands of sweaty
men and a whole lot of fake smoke. He instantly
fell in love. The name of the event was Meltdown,
and the kid was Roland Belmares. As he joined
the crowd in dancing throughout the night, Belmares
realized he could never again return to a world
without this energy, these people, this music.
After years of feeling like an outsider, he ironically
felt immediately integrated among smiling strangers
intent only on celebrating life together. He knew
he had to figure out a way he could give something
in return.
That was the night Roland Belmares decided to
become a DJ.
So began Belmares' humble origins - playing pool
parties and minor venues across Austin, slowly
building a name for himself as a DJ who takes
his art just as seriously whether there are twenty
or two hundred people on the dance floor.
It was Belmares' dedicated fine-tuning and attention
to such style that eventually caught the ear of
Ben Parsley, promoter for two of Austin's biggest
circuit events, Perfect Day and, the one that
started it all, Meltdown. An expert in the art
of identifying talent, Parsley liked what he heard
so much that he decided to give Roland a shot
at the big leagues. In just one year, Belmares
had already achieved his original goal of simply
becoming a good DJ. Now it was time to become
a great DJ.
The incredible impact Belmares made on audiences
at both Meltdown and Perfect Day secured him a
position on the discerning partygoer's hot list
of circuit DJs.
Belmares has been called to play several events
outside Austin and LA county lines; unforgettable
parties located from the hills of San Francisco
to the beaches of Miami. Then, of course, there
are those major events that can either make or
break a burgeoning DJ D names like White Party,
Winter Party (Miami), and Fireball (Chicago) among
all of which Roland rose to the occasion, delivering
audiences the unique sound they had all heard
so much about.
With a growing fan base spanning coast to coast,
it was only a matter of time before Belmares received
recognition from the industry's leading dance
labels, including Centaur (Global Groove), Dance
One (Dance One) and 4Play Records. The latter
having recently released his critically acclaimed
club mix for their best-selling Circuit Sessions
CD series, which include previous editions mixed
by artists like Barry Harris of Thunderpuss, Abel
and Manny Lehman.
As for the what lies ahead for Belmares, it appears
he's dedicated to dance music beyond simply maintaining
his status as one of the scene's top rated DJs.
"In the future, I see myself changing with the
times; keeping an overall consistency of high
energy in my DJ sets. However, I also hope to
eventually move into production work and follow
in the footsteps of such greats as Ralphi Rosario
and Victor Calderone." If that goal sounds out-of-reach,
just consider how quickly Belmares realized his
dream to become a great DJ. Don't blink D Roland
Belmares will be a great producer before you know
it.

Spinning: Bill Hallquist Swan
Song is one of this year's last White Party
events, and marks the 10th Anniversary of this
world famous closing party.
The event which does not require a ticket and
has no cover will feature internationally acclaimed
DJ Bill Hallquist. Join hundreds of beautiful
men ay one of the beach's most popular gay hotspots
while still helping to support the cause.
So as this grande finale ends we hope that for
all White Party participants, Swan Song marks
the end of their White Party experience and the
start and continuance of old and new friendships.
The event is best described as follows...each
year the masses of migratory male snow birds that
cover the beaches of South Beach gather for one
last time and attempt to mate before embarking
on their long journey home.
A porton of the club's proceeds go directly to
Care Resource. Free admission
