I have new poems and updated versions at http://poetryjoe.blogspot.com I opened the blog because everyone can't open this site due to traffic. I still think of you who visit here as my close friends. I've had so many visitors lately that my site sometimes shuts down. I removed a few pictures to try to help ease this problem. That didn't help much, so I removed most of the ads and pictures. If you can't enter my site, please be patient and try again. If parts of this site don't function properly, please let me know. You can write to me at titmouse@hotmail.com.

Hi! I am the author of all the poetry on this site. I was adding a new poem every week, but I'm trying to publish my work now, and publishers won't like it if I'm giving it all away! I have more than a hundred poems here, so that should provide my readers and friends with plenty of content and variety. I hope you will find that if you reread my poems after a few days you will find more and deeper meanings.
I had a few requests to make my photo more accessible, so if that's important, you can click on this hotlink:
You can find my poetry by clicking the hotlinks below. The dates on the hotlinks are the dates the poems were placed here, not the dates the poems were written. I have listed the poems on each hotlink further down this page.
My main interest here is showing my writing. I don't decorate my poems with images and pictures because I don't believe in "correct" interpretations. I hope you relate my words to your life experiences, to things you have seen and felt.

I wrote all these poems: they are copyrighted, but I don't mind if you make a copy for yourself or a friend. I welcome your comments in my Guestbook, below.
I have been practicing Tai Chi for about 3 years. I found "Tai Chi: the Supreme Ultimate," by Lawrence Galante a great help in learning and improving my form. This book shows the form, its martial arts applications, and even talks about the breathing techniques and spiritual aspects of Tai Chi. It is the most comprehensive text on Tai Chi I have seen. Students of Tai Chi may appreciate the format of having a series of pictures showing the movements of the form at the top of each page, and corresponding pictures showing martial arts applications at the bottom.

NOTE TO MY TAI CHI CLASSMATES: I recommend buying your shoes at Arnold Mitchell's Karate Do U.S.A., located at 6707 Whitestone Road (off Dogwood Road near the 695 overpass), Woodlawn, MD. He has reasonable prices and a good selection of martial arts equipment.

MARDI GRAS PICTURES!!!
I went to New Orleans just before Mardi Gras and took some cool pictures that capture a bit of that scene. It's really a lot wilder than the pictures show, but I didn't have my camera all the time!Scene at the corner of Bourbon Street
Have I had enought to drink yet?
Click here to see what a titmouse looks like:MEDIA. The study of media has always fascinated me. I see the internet as a new electronic medium bringing unforeseeable changes. To most people "media" means newspapers, TV, radio, but it really includes all communication, including art, design, even landscaping. We tend to overlook media's effects on the way we see things, while we concentrate on its content. Printing and reading made people tend to think in linear fashion, assembling letters into words and translated words into sequences of thought. Television "pulls the individual into its world" and invites involvement by mixing sight and sound, so the viewer becomes more involved than with print media. Reading tends to make one more evaluative and critical than just watching and absorbing.
For a list of books to read about media, click on Media Books
For basic reading about media, I suggest books by Marshall McLuhan. There are some available in paperback at Amazon.com.
