Mom & Dad's wedding
September 4, 1950
Thank you Mom and Dad for bringing me into this world*S*
My name is Danielle. I was born December 4th, 1953.
I live in Gatineau Quebec, Canada.
My life has been wonderful thanks to the support and love from my family.
I love the country ( new experience for me as I was always a city girl. I'm planning to make a beautiful garden. Let's hope I make the difference between leaves and bad weeds. I'll know by July if nothing grows lol ...Update...July 25th. My garden turned out great. Had nightmares at first when wild animals thought my garden was a wall to wall litter box. I outsmarted them by building a fence. hehehe Another accomplishment I'm very proud of. update August 18. Well I guess I'm a pro at gardening. I haven't had food poisoining from eating my veggies wooohooo
First I would like to thank all my friends for their support since I found out on September 19th, 2000 that my mom was dying of liver cancer. Weird, she hever had an alcohol beverage in her life. She was hanging on to hold her first great grandaughter Victoria who was born January 15th 2001. Her last wish was granted. My mom joined the angels on February 19th. I miss you mom, you were my best friend. You never judged me once even when I was in the wrong. I love you very much. I feel your energy constantly by my side every day and one day I know you will be waiting for me in heaven , cheering my arrival with open arms.
What can I say about my dad. He's been my mentor, my friend, someone I could always confided in. My love for animals come from him. I remember the first time he took me fishing. I was about 4 years old. What a trip that was*L* I remember the long walks in the woods with him. He would tell me the names of each flowers, small animals we would see. I have such fond memories of all this. My dad and I are still very close. If he could give me the moon, he would. He's very caring, soft spoken, I don't recall ever been grounded by him. He's the best dad in the world. Very smart too. He's a ham radio operator and speaks 5 languages. He loves life and he has gizillion friends. I'm very proud to be his daughter. Update. May 3rd 2007. My dad passed away last night. Diabeties finally took him to a better place. I was very fortunate to be by his side before he left our earth plane. He was unconcious for the last 24 hours but shortly before he died I whispered in his ears: " Dad open your eyes for a minute". OMG he did. His bright blue eyes looking in my eyes, I then whispered, look at the angels smiling at you, look at mom and your mom waiting for you with open arms. He managed to smile at me. He made a sound wanting to speak but his vocal chords would not let him. I'm sure he said yes I see them and this is not goodbye, it's only "see you later alligator" lol What an honor to have had such a dad like him. I love you daddy*soft kiss* I was married 3 times. Separated since February 2000. I love being married. Hey I get to have a new name every other year or so*LOL* My ex hubbies and I have remained great friends. We still talk on the phone often.
I have two gorgeous sons; Steve who is 31 and Eric who is 25. They make feel I'm the best mother in the world lol. I have a grandaughter Victoria who is 6 years old. I call her my little princess. She's the joy of my life. She does not look like me but she has toes like mine lol On April 14, 2004 I became a grandma of a very handsome little boy named Andon. He does not look like me either *sigh* And I thank my son's fathers whom I was very fortunate to have been married to. Thank you for the wonderful years we had together.*S* I love animals. I connect with them so well. I always wanted to be a veterinary surgeon but somehow it was not written in the stars.*S* I had a cat named Rambo. I lost him in March 1999 . He passed away after a short illness. I'll see you someday Rambo where the light is filled with so much love and happiness.*S*
This is for you Rambo.
I remember bringing you home. You were so small and cuddly with your tiny paws and soft fur. You bounced around the room with eyes flashing. Once in a while, you'd let out a little meow, just to let me know this was your territory.
You scratched every piece of furniture I had and it became a passion, and when I scolded you, you just put your head down and looked up at me with those innocent eyes, as if to say, "I'm sorry, but I'll do it again as soon as you're not watching."
When I had a tough day at work, you would be waiting for me and meow like to say "Welcome home,I missed you." You never had a bad day, and I could always count on you to be there for me.
When I sat down to read the paper and watch TV, you would hop on my lap, looking for attention. You never asked for anything more than to have me pat your head so you could go to sleep with your head over my leg.
Then one day you got sick. I knelt down and patted you lying there, trying to make you better again. You just looked at me and that after all these years of not asking for anything, you had to ask me for one last favour. With tears in my eyes, I drove you one last time to the vet. One last time, you were lying next to me. For some strange reason, you were able to stand up in the animal hospital, perhaps it was your sense of pride. My last act of love and kindness was to hold you on my lap and talked to you soothingly while the veterinarian took care of what needed to be done. You turned your head and looked at me as if to say, "Thank you for taking care of me." and with sad eyes I said to you, "No, thank you for taking care of me."
I semi retired in November 2005. I had been in insurance for 34 years as an agent and an underwriter. What was satisfying about my work? Knowing I can give my clients the best advice I can and give them a peace of mind when they left my office. ( They loved me when I could save them money lol)
I'm a professional ballroom dancer. Done it for 31 years. I quit after husband #2 and I divorced. My favorite dance? Rumba of course. La Dance de l'amour. I also enjoy Mambo and Waltz. I once competed with 3 broken toes. Yeah just my luck!*L* I hit my toes against a table leg while rushing to get ready. But that night, when it was our turn to compete, I completely forgot the pain and once the music started I just concentrated on my steps and the music and guess what? Yes we won first place in Swing, Cha Cha and Waltz*L* Well we are now in November 2005. I am back in ballroom dancing. I have a wonderful dance partner and it's such a joy to dance with him.
My hobbies? Playing car racing games on Nintendo, playing Spades and Canasta on Yahoo. I also love to read books about the supernatural. My favorite authors are Sylvia Brown and James Van Pragg *S* I love to fish. I'm a pro at putting on the bait. Taking the fish off the hook is a different story lol.
My favorite quote is " Each heart has a window, most pass by,some stop and take a glance, other will come in and stay for a while, but there is only one that will stay forever then and only then should you give it away".
Well that's about it for now. I will keep this page up to date once in a while. I can be reached at dani0412@hotmail.com. Feel free to contact me.
