The price they must pay
Is counted not in gold;
But in the hopes and dreams,
Lost along the way.
Children growing old
While they are away
Lovers left alone
Without someone to hold
Some pay the final price;
Others just their dreams.
In the end, they give their all
In silent sacrifice.
