My name, Heather Christine, means
"God's little flower, who is like Christ." In Bible days, Hebrews named their children based on what they were at birth, or what they wanted them to aspire to be. Children live up to the meaning of their names.I never really cared for the name Heather, until I began to discover name meanings. I think my name has a precious meaning, and I want to live up to it, though I rarely do.
People who saw me on IRC w/ the nick "`Flower" always used to ask me if it was the skunk from Bambi. Yes, I do like Flower...but that's not why I chose that nick. :o)
One of my favorite songs is "
Flower in the Rain" by Jaci Velasquez. When I first heard it, I liked it b/c it was a pretty song, but as I grew up a little bit and hit the "Shaping Years", I began to claim the song as "Heather's Theme". To me, it was precious to sing those words b/c I am God's flower...and right now I have to be willing "to be opened up and broken like a flower in the rain", but after the rain comes the rainbow, and I am looking forward to that.
