Of
course that's not my real name; it's an alias I chose a few years
back when I wanted to argue about politics on a local bulletin board service,
without anyone knowing who I was. The name comes from my favorite childhood
TV show, Dark Shadows. Dark Shadows was a gothic daytime soap opera that
ran from 1966-1977 and featured characters like Barnabas the vampire, Angelique
the witch, and Quentin the werewolf. I have included a list of DS websites
for those who might have fond memories of the show.
A little bit about me:
I'm 42 and I make my living as an educator. I teach middle school keyboarding
and computer applications classes. I'd love to discuss any educational
issues which you find interesting, disturbing or exciting.
I enjoy meeting new
friends, and have found that the internet is a wonderful way to meet people
without the barriers of distance. I like finding out what people think
about, what their interests are, what excites them, what bothers them.
I just find that people are fascinating, and I'm very open-minded and accepting
of others.
I have a wide range
of interests. I enjoy telecommunications, both as a means of accessing
information, and as a means of meeting new friends. I have met some of
my closest friends in that vaguely anonymous place called Cyberspace.
My
other interests include music (I have been playing guitar since I was 12),
reading (mostly horror, or murder mysteries, but an occasional autobiography),
bike-riding, and aerobics. I also enjoy reading and writing short stories
and poems. My favorite authors are: Stephen King, Dean
Koontz, John Steinbeck and Pearl Buck. My favorite poets are Maya
Angelou,Edna St.
Vincent Millay, Emily
Dickinson and Elizabeth
Barrett Browning.
Enough about me...let's
talk about you for a moment....Tell me about yourself, your interests,
your thoughts, your feelings.
