I am happy to see that you decided to visit me and I am proud to welcome you on my modest website. Please sign my guestbook before you leave as it is my only way of knowing you were here!!
My name is Laurent, I am French and I was born on October 9, 1968 in Paris. I grew up in Velizy-Villacoublay, a few miles from Versailles and Paris until 1988. I also often spent many of my summer vacations in the very small village of Vauville in Normandy visiting my grand-parents. To this day, this is still my favorite place in the world. Check-out why by visiting this page, right here!
After graduating highschool in June 1988 with a baccalaureat in Business and Marketing, I decided to pursue a university degree in the United States. First in Pennsylvania at Delaware Valley College for 2 years in a Business Administration program and then in Arizona from 1990 to 1992 where I completed studies in Communication and Advertising at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, while being a ski instructor at Arizona Snow Bowl, the local ski resort between Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon and while completing an internship at my favorite Arizona French restaurant: "Chez Marc."
While visiting my family in the summer of 1993, I was drafted by the French army to complete my military requirements with the French government. I served at the artillery camp of Suippes (in the Marne region of France) between December 1993 and September 1994 as an Administrative Assistant, Driver, and Translator/Interpreter during the 50th Anniversary ceremonies of D-Day with the 82nd US Airborne Division, I then moved back to Phoenix, Arizona in January 1995 and married Christina (who I had met while in college in 1992) on February 25, 1995 after nearly 3 years of dating including 16 months of long distance relationship while I was serving in the French army. However, after 6 years of marriage and no children, we were officially divorced in June 2001.
In February 2000, while skiing a slalom in the French Alps at La Plagne, my favorite ski resort in the whole world, I was involved in a bad accident which left me with a broken elbow and a left arm which is still not 100% recovered to this day. But I can't wait to get back on the slopes!... and it does not hold me back from playing tennis, another of my favorite sport.
Other interests of mine include but are not limited to: travel, photography, drawing, painting, food, wine, music, movies and more recently website design.
So get comfy and I hope you enjoy browsing through the pages of my website, which I try to update regularly... and don't forget to sign the guestbook!! |
