Why Elvis Is The King Of
Rock And Roll:
Elvis Presley has sold over one billion records worldwide making
him the biggest selling solo artist of all time.
Elvis has had 149 songs in Billboards Hot 100 Chart with 114 top
40 hits, 40 top 10 hits and 18 number 1's.
He has had more than ninety charted albums, 36 of which appeared
in the top 20, with 9 going to number 1.
According To Billboard, Elvis Presley has now earned 80 gold
albums, 43 platinum albums, and 19 multi-platinum albums. In
addition to this he has earned 51 Gold or Platinium singles and 16
Gold or Platinium E.P.'s.
Elvis has received 14 Grammy nominations, winning awards for:
'How Great Thou Art' (1967);'He Touched Me' (1972) and 'How
Great Thou Art' (Recorded Live in 1974).
Four of his songs: 'Thats All Right' (1954); 'Heartbreak Hotel'
(1956); 'Hound Dog' (1956) and 'Suspicious Minds' (1969) were
inducted into the N.A.R.A.S. Grammy Hall Of Fame and aged 36
Elvis received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
In 1986 Elvis Presley was inducted into the
Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame. |

Elvis Presley fans were extremely successful in getting a
national stamp for our idol and now is our chance to make it happen all over again...well,
sort of.
The government will not issue another stamp featuring Elvis Himselvis but we can indeed
get one with Elvis' beloved home, Graceland on it! We must work hard and together on this
to make it another milestone in the history of Elvis and his adoring fans! Are you with
us??
Please write and request to have a Graceland Stamp to be
issued in the year 2002. Graceland deserves this honor as it
is not only Elvis' beloved home, it is also the Elvis Presley Museum.
