If you are a mechanic, or if you have ever
used a cherry picker or
other shop equipment or a hoist or floor crane to pull an engine,
Then, allow me to introduce a new piece of shop equipment
that is going to make your life easier and more profitable.
After you read this, you're going to scratch
your head and say,
"I can't believe this tool hasn't already been invented!".
Well, we couldn't either!! My partner and I are mechanics and we
now have the patent on this electric floor crane. We use it about
1-2 times a week and have been for over 3 years. We have 2 other
hydraulic cherry pickers sitting around collecting dust. This new
floor crane or engine hoist is so easy to use and so much
more "fun" to use that nobody will use the old ones.
Imagine, one person controls the entire operation!
It has a handheld remote control so that if you need to
raise or lower the engine just a bit, YOU control the movement,by
pushing a button, never leaving the hold you have on the motor!
Movement is safe, slow and steady, with no jerking and no bleed-off.
No bleed-off!! Did you get that? Leave the engine over a drain
pan
for however long you need to and it will still be right there
tomorrow morning or monday morning or next year!!
I love watching people's faces as they try it out for the first
time.
My telling you about it might convince you just how neat this is,
but,
I sure wish I could be there when you first use it yourself.
I had to put a 454 in a 28 foot RV and I had the motor on the
cherry picker, but I was there by myself, so when I got to the
point where, normally, you'd ask another mechanic to help by
operating the controls, duh, I stuck the remote's magnetic
base (did I mention the magnetic base?) to the end of the boom
and
went around to the side door and inside to the engine compartment
and
picked up the remote, -you're starting to get it now- and I
pulled the cherry picker in as I lowered the motor into position
and stabbed it in less than 60 seconds!!
Let's see you do that with a hydraulic unit with a helper!!!
Some mechanics actually "giggle" when they use it!
Really!!
Read this please.
Advantages of the All-Electric Engine Crane
(1) Controlled consistent movement. Instantly!
The use of an electric operated ram on this lifting device.
(as opposed to) the use of a manually operated hydraulic ram
or bottle jack. This allows a smooth steady movement which
through gearing, movement is relatively slow. There is no
jerkiness of motion and if the motor is left overnight on the
crane, there will be absolutely no change of height as in
prior cranes which suffered from hydraulic bleed-down which can
cause damage to motor or vehicle or spill oil pans which are
commonly left under used motors to allow all old motor oil to
drain out.
(2) Makes a hard job easy!
The use of this machine is basically effortless.
The mechanic merely presses either the "UP" button or
the
"DOWN" button to begin movement. The control switch
incorporates a strong magnetic base which allows the mechanic
to stick the switch to any nearby metal so it doesn't fall
to the floor and out of reach.
(3) A timesaver!!
A remote operated control switch allows the user to keep
both hands-on while aligning the mating parts of a motor and
a transmission.
Earlier cranes required the user to abandon his position or
grasp on the motor to make even minute changes in heighth
(repeatedly) which generally wasted time and effort.
Also, the fact that by walking back to the control valve area,
the user's view is nearly always obscured by distance and by
the obstruction of the front portion of the vehicle engine
compartment and radiator area.
(4) One man operation will save money!
Prior floor cranes generally required two persons in actual
operation. Using a second mechanic to operate the controls
while the other is leaning over the radiator trying to align
the motor and transmission. The mechanic using this new
device has total control of any and all vertical movement
of the motor and can press a button without turning loose
of the motor at a critical moment.
(5) A safer machine!
It eliminates the crushed hand type injuries which can easily
happen on hydraulic units. Using two mechanics is dangerous
and can easily cause injury if the hydraulic release valve
is suddenly opened too far (very common) or at the wrong
time. The valve operator cannot see the other mechanic's hands.
(6) Fully self-contained!
This new device uses any 12 volt car battery, and uses very
little power (15amps) from the battery. It can be used this way
or
by using the battery from the vehicle you are working on if
desired. We sometimes use just a jumper box.
If you want technical info, contact me (Roger) at:
This is not available anywhere else yet.
It will be on TrucksTv in the near future, if you have cable (I don't)
Maybe someone will tape it for me!
By the way we are looking for distributors....
