A club for owners or anyone interested in Honda's

V twin Adventure Tourers

The XL600V Transalp, The XLV 750R and The XRV 750 Africa Twin.

Good on the dirt and good on the bitumen, they are the perfect bikes for exploring the island continent. The XLV 750 and the XL600V Transalp were both sold in Australia for two years and then discontinued due to poor sales, despite both bikes being given great reviews in the Aussie bike press. The same fate befell the Yamaha XTZ Super Tenere, the poor sales of these bikes has influenced Honda not to import the Africa Twin to Australia.

The poor sales of these bikes "Down Under" is quite puzzling, they are at home on dirt or tarmac roads, have a good fuel range and a very comfortable riding position. These attributes would seem perfect for Australia with our many remote areas and kilometers of dirt roads and our very rough tarmac roads. Instead Aussie bikers tend to buy short suspended uncomfortable sports bikes, but in Europe with its good roads, Honda sells many Transalps and Africa Twins. The world is certainly a strange place sometimes.!!!!!!

The aim of the Honda V Twin Adventurers Club of Australia is to bring together owners from all over the country to share experiences and to swap information. There is a monthly newsletter and A national rally will be organised in the future. If you would like to join please email me.
