After much thought, I have decided to keep this page and turn it into a Dale Earnhardt Tribute page and also keep up with the teams from DEI. I dont have alot of free time, but keep checking back in the future to see what has been added. I will do the best I can to make this worthy of "The Man" and his teams.
The Loss of a Legend
April 29, 1951-February 18, 2001
But it did happen.
It was bad.
And our hero would not climb from the sacred Black #3 this time, or ever again.
After the TV coverage of the 2001 Daytona 500 ended, I started searching the web for any news of the condition of Dale. I found nothing but his condition was "serious". No announcement that he was awake or alert and responding to treatment. I started to fear the worst. I knew in my heart that in this case, "No News Is Good News" could not be farther from the truth this time. Then, seconds before SportsCenter started, I received a computer message from a dear friend that Dale was gone.
I sat here in shock. The man who was NASCAR, the sport I loved over all others, was gone. My personal hero. A man unlike no other.
I have spent today wondering how will I ever watch another NASCAR race, or any other race, again? How can I ever sit down in front of the TV on a Sunday afternoon, or in the stands at Pocono or any track with the same enthusiasm ever again? Well, after thinking about it for most of the day, it was a pretty simple answer. Because Dale would have wanted me to. He would want all of us to. Dale worked all his life to make NASCAR the sport that it is now. He would not want it to suffer because of his passing. He would want us to move on.
And move on we will, but not right this minute. Now is the time to greive. I am not usually easily moved to tears, but I have shed more than a few in the last 24 hours, and I'm sure that there will be more. But the pain will ease over time, and I will move on. Becasue Dale would have wanted it that way.
But those warm sunny weekend afternoons in the summer will never, ever be the same again.
Goodbye Dale. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. You will remain in our hearts forever.
In the Friday, Feb 25 edition a open letter from Teresa Earnhardt, Dale's widow, was printed. She gratefully acknowledges the support of the fans in this hard time. If you have time, please read it. Its worth it.

It is now 24 hours since I learned of the passing of Dale Earnhardt, the "Intimidator" to the millions of loyal fans, and I am still at a loss for words to describe the pain that fills my heart. This was not supposed to happen. The wreck didnt look that bad. Our heroes always made it thru the tough times.
To Teresa, Kerry, Kelly, Dale Jr, and Taylor Nichole:
My heart goes out to you. I wish i could give each of you a hug and wipe the tears away. There is never a truer statement been said than "Time Heals All Wounds". I know. It will take time, but you will be able to move on. The thoughts and prayers of countless people are with you always.

After much thought, I have decided to put my fan rings and a pic page back up here. If anyone wants to visit some of the other sites to express their feeling to the other site owners, please feel free to do so. Some sites are still up, while others have chosen to close theirs down. Each of us grieves in a different way.
