Wallace gets 50th win where he got his first By Ben White NASCAR Winston Cup Illustrated BRISTOL, Tenn. (March 26, 2000) Rusty Wallace, driver of the Miller Lite Ford, is a long-time veteran of the short-track wars, having first joined the NASCAR Winston Cup Series circuit some 20 years ago. Fourteen years ago, on April 6, 1986, Wallace logged his first career NASCAR Winston Cup Series win -- right here on the 0.533-mile high banked Bristol Motor Speedway. The St. Louis native rolled in the 2000 Food City 500 to score his eighth career win at Bristol and 50th overall win. He became just the 10th driver to win 50 times in NASCAR's top division, and tied Ned Jarrett and Junior Johnson for eighth on the all-time list. .

Wallace starts and finishes strong! Rusty Wallace grabbed his second straight victory in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series by winning the Goracing.com 500. He started from the Bud Pole, loosing the lead at times, but finishing as the winner. Tony Stewart was second, followed by Mark Martin, Dale Earnhardt, and Steve Park.
