Hi! My nickname is Tanman. As you can tell, I'm an auto enthusiast. I used to drag race and I also used to own an auto body repair shop. I'm an avid collector and enjoy building cars. I know it's been awhile since my last update but believe me I've been busy. I earned my pilots license in October 1998 and have been working on transplanting a Chevy 4.3 V-6 engine and 4 SP automatic transmission into my 1990 Toyota 4 X 4. I'm close to being done. I have a couple more hurdles to clear and some wiring hassles (I kept the injection on the chevy engine)but hopefully it will have been worth it. I'll try to kept more current and give any interested parties my insight in the swap.

The Toyota is all but done----except for some mysterious power drain on the battery that makes it completely dead after a few days of setting. Had a memorable trip to Disneyland in Anaheim a couple weeks ago. My wife, son and I flew down in the Cessna. My daughter and her dance friends were selected to perform on stage so we flew down to watch. It was my wife's first cross-country trip. (and maybe last) I had a great time though it would have been nicer to have a faster plane. Maybe some day I can trade up or sell and buy a faster one (like a mooney maybe)
02/22/2001 Nope---changed my mind---I'm building a Vans Aircraft RV-9A instead of buying something. I will be adding some information and pictures as I progress and I've put RV related links on my links page.
02/26/2005 That power drain I mentioned above was caused by a short in the diodes of a brand new alternator. Go figure. If you go to my RV-9A page, you will notice that I have added another project. I'm currently working on getting a Lancair 235/290 finished and flying. Hope to be in the air by the end of March (2005).
