Meet Rosie

Dan's '65 Corvair - The Sellout...Not The Project

Hi Kids, how ya doin'. This is my Home Page where you will get to see my 1965 Corvair Convertible.
We'll, I finally caved in and soldout. I could not find the time to work on "The Project Cars" so I took the easy and smart way out. I bought a real nice little car that was sitting up in Brecksville, Ohio. Ain't it sweet. I named her Rosebud...or Rosie ...for short. The car runs great. Not quite show quality, but I would rather drive it around the town. You are the person to visit my 65 Corvair Homepage. Thank you!

First stop on the journey, the car finds a resting spot in Warren. Since the top is Swiss cheese, the cover is needed to keep the rain out. View of the "custom" blue wave on lavender spray paint job and white paint on chrome spoke wheel covers....OUCH!

Let's hook up the battery and see if we can get this bad boy fired up!

Fired up and ready to roll.

I made it to the corner and back before it stalled out...

Well, with a little help, the mobile was transferred to it's home in Akron, Ohio. With a little dry gas, clean oil and quickie tune-up at the corner auto shop, the beast made a few maiden voyages around the local neighborhood.

How's this for a customizing option! I was surprised to get this personalized plate considering all the possible '65 Corvette owners out there. It will work. .

...And how do you fix a convertible top in this kind of shape?? BUY ANOTHER '65 CONVERTIBLE CORVAIR WITH A GOOD TOP...and here it is.

I found this car in the local paper and made an offer. The rag top is in excellent condition and now I also have lots of parts...(and my next project)

Check out the new ragtop!

.....and Good News....Shirley has been found. She was held hostage on a farm just south of Canton, Ohio. Rehab to city life will begin immediately.

We found Shirley
