Above is the post holding up the porch. As you can see the hollow brick is filled in with red one. This is not the same brick as is in the walls, this one is a double one.

This is part of the wall in basement. The same exact brick is used in the walls on the first floor.You can see the "pipe" the bricks create that runs horizontally from one corner to another of the house. This is where I'm think about plugging the ends with the red brick.

This is the side view of the brick. Again it has a pretty smooth finish as if it is terracota.
