VISITED BY

MOPAR FANS SINCE MAY 20,1999

This page is dedicated to our 1969 Dodge Super Bee.  When it comes to drag racing it's  Mopar or NO Car!

This is our Super Bee.  We bought it in June of 1998 through an ad in the Auto Trader.  It has been a race car most of its life so there is very little rust anywhere but, because it was a racer, it was hacked up quite a bit to save weight and there are alot of missing parts. We also removed the 8 point roll cage and are replacing  what's missing.  Our objective is not to build a show car.  We are building a tough street 'n strip MOPAR!

The heart of our Super Bee is a thumpin' 440 MOPAR mill.  Bored .030 over it now displaces 446 cubes.  The engine modifications are as follows.  The block has been deburred and align honed. The forged crank has been balanced and the journals undercut to clean them up.  The stock rods have been replaced with Eagle "H" beam units with 11:1 pistons with full floating pins.  The 906 heads have been treated to hardened valve seats, bronze guides, ported and gasket matched. The job of bumping the valves goes to a MOPAR Performance hydraulic Purple Shaft cam with .509 lift and 292 degrees of duration.  We selected Edelbrock to feed the beast with a Torker II intake manifold and Performer 750 CFM carb.  Lighting the fire is an MSD 6 AL box and spreading it around is an Accel distributor and plug wires.

Getting the power to the ground starts with a 3200 stall torque convertor by Midwest. The 727 Torqueflite has been beefed with racing clutches, steels and band from TPI, and the fully manual reverse pattern Cheetah valve body and Cheetah shifter make sure the gears connect when they're supposed to. The stock drive shaft was balanced and now has heavy duty Spicer u-joints to turn the 3.55 Suregrip rear end. Mopar Performance Super Stock springs and pinion snubber will handle the traction chores.
