Welcome to Cameano's Homepage | ||||||||||||||||
Cameano is the name given to my 1964 Chevrolet El Camino. Cameano earned it's name in the late 1980's, after I bought it off of a used car lot in Waipahu, Hawaii, where the car still resides. It had come equipped with a '65 L79 350hp 327 and an M-20 4-speed transmission, backed up by a stock 3.08 geared 10 bolt Chevy rear. The engine was obviously not stock, but the rearend and trans were numbers matching to the car. This configuration yielded mid-14 second 1/4 mile passes, at about 93-95mph, straight off the street. Today, the car is still undergoing a long, slow restoration. New parts are continuing to hit the market, making the task of locating parts easier. I'm taking my time with it, trying not to cut corners on anything, which usually dictates spending ridiculous amounts of money for the right stuff. It will be done when it's done, but I am actively working on it when I can find the time to. |
