Dear GeoCities Member,

Your web site, http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Shop/3978 seems to have been receiving a large amount of traffic.

Our records indicate that you're using more than the allotted amount of data transfer we provide for a free web site, which is 3 gigabytes per month (measured on an hourly basis). That means that during the past few days we had to temporarily turn your site off to keep thebandwidth within this limit.

What can I do?

Keep in mind that large files such as images and multimedia files can effect your data transfer greatly. A single web page that contains 200,000 bytes of images will only be able to be viewed about 20-25 times an hour. By keeping your file sizes and page sizes as small as possible, you can maximize the amount of page views your site can produce.

You can also upgrade your site to one of our premium website packages. These packages allow for up to 25 gigabytesof data transfer per month, and also give you the option of purchasing unlimited data transfer so your site will always be accessible.  These packages also enable you to run an ad-free site at your own domain name and matching email accounts at that domain. Upgrading your current site is simple -- you don't have to move any files and your geocities.com address will continue to work.

For more information about our new packages, please visit

If you'd prefer not to receive this notice in the future,  just go to http://geocities.yahoo.com/opt/bwemail to take your name off of the notify list.  Of course, our servers will continue to monitor your site's data usage and turn it off if it exceeds the limits.

Thank you for using Yahoo! GeoCities,

Hello Barracuda Websurfers,

"Where's the 67-69 Cuda Data Source page?"

Hmmm Gone..at least from Geocities.

WHY?

Well Geocities has recently been closing down my site from time to time as it’s too popular and eating up bandwidth. If you are reading this than of course it’s back up but I have removed it from Geocities.

Geocities “your site is killing our server” love letter to me is on the left. I do appreciate Geocities / yahoo for allowing free sites such as mine running on their tab (for two years!) even though its annoying that one gets bombarded with pop up ads (hence why I left an open column on the right side of this table). But the time has come to move on, and so I have.

While I know my site is a little stale as far as the information on it, and I am working on some new stuff, it seems that it’s still a popular place for my Barracuda family. In addition, I would think that heavy traffic would equate to heavy viewing of their ads which produces revenue. In their defense I do have plenty of jpegs which eats up bandwidth and crushes those of you with modems. I plan to have smaller jpegs which can be clicked which expand to larger ones to help those of you who are bandwidth challenged.

What does this mean, you’re closing the site? Nope. I went out and bought a URL and have retained Half Price Hosting to host my site. I was going to roll this whole thing out at once, the new URL and a new updated site but Geocities forced my hand a little early.  The URL is new but the site’s still the same for right now. So here is the new URL for my 67-69 Barracuda Data Source page, enjoy.
