This is a link to my winter project, which started on August 8, 1998. It was a long process of negotiating to make the purchase of my second 1963 Nova SS convertible. I felt it was over priced and the owner had more money in it then it was worth. I bought it from the original owner’s brother. His older brother took him for rides in the Nova when he was younger.  Can Anyone Help!!!

I'm needing a pair of 1962 - 1964 Chevy Nova bucket seat. Any shape would be considered. I'm also wanting to put disk brakes on the front of my 63, so I'm looking for the front spindles, rotors, backing plates and proportioning valve. The donner cars that can be used are: 70-73 Monte Carlo, 71-72 GMC Sprint, 67-72 Chevelle, 67-69 Camero, 69-72 Grand Prix, 67-72 Tempest, 67-69 Firebird, 68-72 Buick Special, 72-74 Buick Skylark/ApolloII, 73-74 Olds Omega, 68-74 Pontiac Ventura/Phoenix and 67-74 Nova. I bought this nova not knowing anything about Novas, but I felt like you can’t go wrong on buying an SS convertible. I never thought my mother would ever forgive me for dragging home such (a piece of crap in her eyes). I was going to sell it because of the grief I was getting, until I had 3 people who wanted to buy it. One was going to drive a thousand miles to buy it. That's when I decide to keep it. I bought it from a salvage yard that had to build a new barn because the old one was going to fall down. The nova was the lease desirable car of theirs, so it didn't make it into the barn. The nova was sitting outside for 6 months in soft soil. It had sunk to the floors. Surprising thing is the floor where very solid. I never saw what they had in that new barn, but I can't imagine. On June 18-19 1999 in Cedar Rapids Iowa there was National Nostalgic Nova mini national car show. The weather was nice and the people and cars where great!! The show was at the Collins Plaza Parking lot. There was a nice turn out 70 cars. If you where there and have pictures please send them.

Labor
Day 1999 
|
On Labor day 1999 in Des Moines Iowa there was a car show at Holm Honda/Oldsmobile. It was a very nice day and not too hot. I took a few pictures of my car and several others. Hope you enjoy the pictures. |

| Our project Pull Truck 9/22/2000 | We where going to build a old construction truck so we bought a rust free box. Then this spring we found a whole cab both are from Texas. This will be a real time saver. Now we have decided we are going to build a nice full options 4x4. We Found a 1979 fully loaded Sept. 9 2000. On June 4, 2000 we participated in the 3rd Annual Mayor's cruise and poker run. The Mayor of Des Moines was in the lead car. There was about 130 cars that where in the cruise. Many people don't know what a poker run is and it is a chance to drive your vehicle and have some fun. There usually are six stops in the cruise. At each stop you draw a playing card, you drop the card back in the bag so each person has the same chance of winning. You are trying to get the best poker hand. The best poker hands win prizes. They also had a car show at the end of the cruise. The weather was cloudy and cool, but it was a lot of fun for all. | ||

On July 4th weekend for the last 5 years that I know of they have had The Good Guys Street Rod Nationals at the State Fair ground in Des Moines Iowa. A friend and I went on the last day of the show. All the judging was done we could see the cars that had won. The one thing that I'm always amazed about the beautiful paint jobs that they have on these cars. | ||
