I'm really proud of my son Michael. He has accomplished so much in the last few years. He has gone up against some of the top Street Custom Volkswagens in the state of California and has won.
He loves the competition curcuit. He will get up at ungodly hours to get his car ready for a show. Then drive any where from 3 to 4 hrs to a show and then his process begins.
He works on the car contently. That is his first love. He says " he would rather spend his money on his car as women cost you to much more!". In time I think he will change his mind. He's only 21, so he has plenty of time for love later.
Car Details
The engine is base on a VW Type 1 1600, built by Steve Tims for CB Performance of Farmersville, California especially for Michael. It's a Displacement 1835cc, the crank is a 69mm counter weight. Pistons are 92mm Cima of course. Stock VW Rods and also stock on the heads VW 040 with 1.25 rockers. Compression ration is 8:0:1.
He is pretty proud of his engine. And he only uses Kendall 40W in it. The Eagle 110, 286 duration, 429 life on 109 lobe center for the Cam. Spark Plugs of course are Bosch Platium. The Oil Cooler is a Dog house wide glide oil sump. Ignition is a Bosch .009 w/ compufire electronic, blue coil, And the carberators, are Dual Dellorto 40's. And of course he has to have the best Intake Maniforl by CB Performance of Farmersville, California. (He and the guys there are very good friends). And the exhaust system are Phoenix Headers, ever changing the mufflers, and just stock size on the Flywheel, oh almost forgot the Kennedy Stage II w/200 mm superdisk Clutch.
Special modifications to the engine.Orange Amc Jeep Paint splattered on white, with Chrome details. Also 12 volt alternator,custom pulleys, CB Performance breather box. Boy do they make alot from this kid. LOL
As for the interior, lets see we'll start with the NOISE factor first. Interior sound come from Sony CDX-C710 Cd player, serving signals to two Rockford Fosgate Punch 40xDSMS and a Rockford Fosgate Punch 50mm amp. Upper frequencies come from a set of Sony 6 1/2 mid ranges with angle mounted tweeters mounted in Invoasions in Fiberglass kick panels. In the rear, low frequencies ruble from two Rockford Fosgate RFP1210 Punch DVC 10" woofers, housed in a 2.23 cubic foot ported enclosure. He did all his own wiring and building of the box and all. He is a very talented kid. Just wish he would keep his room clean!!!!!!
Body modifications are shaved trim, relocated mirrors,turn indicators, license plates and light. Louvered fenders and deck lid. Filled exhaust holes. Blade bumpers, One piece door windows.
The Interior hardware of course is all billet pieces, door handles, window cranks and arm rests, The kid is in to polishing everything!!!! The grey velour seats are awesome, and he just had the door panels and headliner completed in grey also.
Suspension consists of front having Puma adjustable beam, reconditioned trailing are with German ball joints, rebuilt Germany steering box. Chrome tie-rods,and KYB GR-2 shocks, rear stock lowered 2 splines with air shocks.
Wheels are polished Empi Style 5 spokes, front tires are 195.50R15, and rear are 205 60R15.
To finish the car off he has white aluminum running boards and stand off's on his louvered Deck lid. And there is the white window and fender rubber the truly brings out the orange.
