Steves Radiocar Page

This page is primarily devoted to the Radio-equipped military versions of the VW 181. Prompted by the lack of information at the time of my own restoration a few years ago, it includes a collection of informations gathered and fix-its learnt along the way as well as details of other radiocar restoration projects. This is an update (as of May 1999) of my 1998 article and tries to address some of the points raised by helpful readers over the past year and, those aspects not covered previously (ie new sources of cars, radios, spares and info as appropriate). Also included this time is some coverage of `militarised` `181s as used for off-roading and re-enactment purposes. Let me know what you think of this and maybe I`ll start a separate page on the subject. As before, my aim is not to write a definitive article on restoration, but rather to provide enough information to allow readers to accurately gauge feasibility of the project( ie technical and cost). I hope it will also appeal to the increasing number of ex-military `181 owners by providing an accurate reference source. The page will be under regular revision over the coming months, so please call by from time to time in order to see whats new. Above all, I hope you enjoy it ! Bye for now, Steve W.
