Draco
(A 1998 Pontiac TransAm 6-Speed)
Ok, so, "What's a Draco?" Well that's a bit of a story. In October of 97, I walked into my local pontiac dealership to look at the new FireBirds. I had just gotten a new job that paid well, and I wanted to get into a new car to get away from the "Used-Car Shuffle" where you stay just ahead of the repairs. Having never really liked the 93-97 nose, I loved the new one for 98. So, I informed the salesman that I ws interested in a Ram-Air TransAm. He informed me that they weren't available at that time (which they weren't). So he told me about the FireHawk. After looking into the FireHawk, I was hooked. Well, four months later, the Hawk was cancelled and the WS6(Ram-Air) was sold-out. Needless to say, I was very upset. I had the dealership scour my region for a Black 6-Speed TransAm with Traction Control. THey found one and throutgh a rather convoluted shuffle of cars, I picked up the Black TA 6-Speed on Febuary 28th, 1998. Upset about the whole FireHawk and WS6 deal, I set out to re-make this TA into my own version. A Draco.
