ABOUT
THE MUSTANG OWNERS CLUB OF AUSTRALIA MOCA Queensland was formed in 1980 by a group of people with a common interest in the Ford Mustang. They joined together to share knowledge and to increase their ability to locate hard to find parts. Today, the Club has more than 300 members throughout Queensland, and is amalgamated with Mustang Owners' Clubs in other states. It also liaises with other clubs in the United States and around the world. Members' cars range from original to modified and from 'daily drivers' to concours restorations. Meetings are held each month and guest speakers are invited to attend. Monthly club runs are held in Brisbane, on the Gold Coast and at Mackay. Changes to Queensland laws in recent years mean that Left Hand Drive Mustangs older than 30 years may be registered for daily driver use. However, if an LHD owner wishes only to drive on club runs, it is possible to take out a concessional Historic Registration for limited use. (Queensland laws and those of most Australian States do not permit use of newer left hand drive vehicles on the road. They must be converted to right hand drive.) A MOCA National Concours is held each year and also a State Concours and Display Day. The basic aim of the club today is to encourage fellowship among Mustang owners, and to give them the incentive to keep their vehicles in top condition. |
