UPDATE- I sold my baby on 10-2-99! Although it was hard to say goodbye to such a great car, it was time. The tranny was going out, AGAIN, and I figured I better trade it in soon or be faced with a $2000 bill for putting a third transmission in a 39K mile car. Maybe the constant redline shifts had something to do with it, but hey, I am only 23 years old! My new vehicle is a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee- 235HP 4.7L V8, Quadra-Track II 4WD, Up-Country suspension, Leather, All power and the Infinity Gold stereo system. This is an awesome vehicle, and much better suited to the short trips and daily off-road that I was putting my good-as-new Contour through. Acceleration is head-snapping and the suspension pampers, although the handling would likely disappoint if my commute did not consist of such short in-city trips. The Contour was a GREAT car for $16K, especially before all the 97+ decontenting. Maybe I will be out used car shopping with my son 8 or 9 years from now and come across a nice V6 5spd with low miles...

This is my 95 Contour LX.  With a 170hp DOHC V6 engine, a manual transmission, great handling, and four doors, my Contour was the perfect step up when the sports coupe got a little tight on space. Purchased new in Februaury 1996, I have put 33k miles on the odometer, and am still waiting to perform most of my intended major upgrades and modifications.  Click on the picture of my car to find out a little more about it.
