UPDATE 8/14/99
The fate of this Scrambler in terms of upgrades in now unknown. A recently acquired CJ-8, that may be built from the ground up may be the final recepient of many parts listed below. Not really sure exactly what will end up on what jeep. The project jeep has the worst rust I've ever seen on a scrambler, at least the body anyway. The frame is still good however, as are the mechanicals, so it should be a good basis for a ground-up rebuild.
A Dana 30 with 4.56 gears and ARB has been aquired for the front. A full hard top in nicer shape was also acquired recently (so the Acme top is for sale now).
A Ramsey REP8000 winch with roller fairlead also has been purchased for the front.
An '86 CJ Dana 44 Rear Axle(with matching Dana 30 front) rear was also bought recently, which should make there way under the '82 Scrambler before winter.
It also has a factory Jeep brush guard on it. The kind that was available in the early 80's, like on the Jamboree edition CJ's.
This is really old by now......
It is almost ready for inspection. Front braided brake lines and new calipers were just added,
the rear braided line will have to wait until spring to be installed.
The snow plow mount was just put on.
A new, bigger blower motor and a new heater core were put in to help fight off the cold during plowing.

Other things: soft half doors, YJ half doors, Meyer's 6.5' Power Angle Snowplow, custom bumpers. Future Plans: - Paint it a bight yellow (1976 Corvette yellow). - Install the light bar that he bought. - Different seats-maybe from a Honda Del Sol - Stereo and alarm (no stereo in it now) - Rhino-lining or a similar product - Nerf Bars - Stainless steel brakes lines - Engine and transmission swap (see below for what he might do)
Barry recently purchased a '79 CJ-7 Golden Eagle with 360/TH400. Bought it mostly for the engine and transmission, so if you want any parts off of it, email me with what you are looking for. The body tub is pretty much gone though(fenders are so-so, hood and grill are good, as is the tailgate and windshield+frame). Tan rear seat I think is in good shape, has old style roll bar.
Opinion question time dealing with engine and transmission combos.
Scrambler presently has 258/T176/Dana300 combo in it.
Also have the above mentioned 360 engine and TH400 transmission, and a Ford T-18 tranny.
Also have a Novak adapter for a small block Chevy to Jeep T-18 transmission.
With the above available parts, what would be the best and/or cheapest setup to go with,
beside the original combo.
I think a ($400+) adapter would be need for the 360/TH400 option. A Jeep T-18 is hard to find
if the Novak adapter would be used (Small block Chevy's are easy to find for cheap).
I assume an expensive adapter would be need to use the Ford T-18 with any engine/transfer case combo?
Anyway, what would you do with the above options?? Any opinions appreciated.
I finally got some way of getting pictures on the net (thanks to Snappy). I have a page with some pictures of the Scrambler on it.
I modified it to be a stretched scrambler (has two doors on each side). Click here to take a look at it.
David Moulton modified it to look like his YJ. (Click on YJ to see what it looks like).
My brother has a CJ-10a. That'd be a link to a page with some info and pictures of it.
Below are some pictures of a few other CJ-10's
Here's a picture of a Jeep CJ-10, taken from the Jeep Owners Club Of Victoria
Here's another CJ-10, not sure where this picture came from, probably Australia. It has a really massive bumper on it, maybe to protect it from kangaroos. I think that'd be worse than hitting a deer!
This CJ-10 I seem to think is owned by a family member of a large Jeep dealer in the Southern US somewhere, but I'm not really sure. If you know, let me know!
