Barry's Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler Page!!

I decided to make another page just for Barry's Scrambler. By the way, Barry is my (twin) brother

NEW Page full of stuff for sale!
Including Jeeps, jeeps parts, a 70 Ford Torino GT Convertible, GSXR-750, Car Audio
Check it out. We want to sell stuff to make more room at the house and get a larger driveway, so buy stuff, lots of stuff. Price are negotiable on some things.

UPDATE 8/14/99
The fate of this Scrambler in terms of upgrades in now unknown. A recently acquired CJ-8, that may be built from the ground up may be the final recepient of many parts listed below. Not really sure exactly what will end up on what jeep. The project jeep has the worst rust I've ever seen on a scrambler, at least the body anyway. The frame is still good however, as are the mechanicals, so it should be a good basis for a ground-up rebuild.

A Dana 30 with 4.56 gears and ARB has been aquired for the front. A full hard top in nicer shape was also acquired recently (so the Acme top is for sale now).
A Ramsey REP8000 winch with roller fairlead also has been purchased for the front.

An '86 CJ Dana 44 Rear Axle(with matching Dana 30 front) rear was also bought recently, which should make there way under the '82 Scrambler before winter.

The Scrambler should be transforming soon!!
Items that have been recently ordered and should be installed soon:
4 " Big Dicks Suspension (BDS) Lift Kit
Drop Pitman arm
Slick Rock Spring hanger - front and rear
M.O.R.E. Greasable Shackles
M.O.R.E. Main eye greasable bushings
Prothane Urethane swaybar bushings
Rancho 9000 shocks
Rubicon Express Swaybar disconnects
The yellow paint talked about below is being put on hold for the time being. It's gonna get a quick coat of olive drab paint for the winter. The yellow paint will come when there is time to do 'proper' prep work and painting.

It also has a factory Jeep brush guard on it. The kind that was available in the early 80's, like on the Jamboree edition CJ's.

This is really old by now......
It is almost ready for inspection. Front braided brake lines and new calipers were just added, the rear braided line will have to wait until spring to be installed.
The snow plow mount was just put on.

A new, bigger blower motor and a new heater core were put in to help fight off the cold during plowing.

The Scrambler was purchased in 1995 for only $1000 and a mountain bike (worth about $200). It had a recent engine rebuild and brand new tires on it. It was ugly(brown and primer-see pictures below) and not inspected, but the price was right.

Barry recently purchased a '79 CJ-7 Golden Eagle with 360/TH400. Bought it mostly for the engine and transmission, so if you want any parts off of it, email me with what you are looking for. The body tub is pretty much gone though(fenders are so-so, hood and grill are good, as is the tailgate and windshield+frame). Tan rear seat I think is in good shape, has old style roll bar.

Opinion question time dealing with engine and transmission combos.
Scrambler presently has 258/T176/Dana300 combo in it.
Also have the above mentioned 360 engine and TH400 transmission, and a Ford T-18 tranny.
Also have a Novak adapter for a small block Chevy to Jeep T-18 transmission.
With the above available parts, what would be the best and/or cheapest setup to go with, beside the original combo.
I think a ($400+) adapter would be need for the 360/TH400 option. A Jeep T-18 is hard to find if the Novak adapter would be used (Small block Chevy's are easy to find for cheap).
I assume an expensive adapter would be need to use the Ford T-18 with any engine/transfer case combo?
Anyway, what would you do with the above options?? Any opinions appreciated.

I finally got some way of getting pictures on the net (thanks to Snappy). I have a page with some pictures of the Scrambler on it.

Go to Barry's Scrambler Picture Page

Cool Animated CJ8 drawing that show no top, half top and full top!!

Click   - HERE -   to view a picture of what the Scrambler will hopefully look like. It's the same as the above picture but only with no top (not an animated gif). It is only a gif file for those of you who can't grab online images. If you save the image, you then can than open up with some program and then change the color or add graphics to it. That will allow you to see what your Scrambler may look like if you wish to paint it another color. You can also chop out a few sections to shorten it into a CJ-7 or even a CJ-5 if you want to play with the shape of the door!! It's not perfect but I think it is pretty good doing from scratch. If you use it anywhere, please give me credit for it since it took many hours to draw.

I modified it to be a stretched scrambler (has two doors on each side). Click here to take a look at it.

David Moulton modified it to look like his YJ. (Click on YJ to see what it looks like).

JEEP CJ-10
Not many people have heard of the Jeep CJ-10. Seems like some people think others are clueless when they mention the CJ-10, thinking they meant to say J-10 instead. The J-10 is a full size Jeep Pickup.
The CJ-10 is a total different beast all together!!

My brother has a CJ-10a. That'd be a link to a page with some info and pictures of it.

Below are some pictures of a few other CJ-10's

Here's a picture of a Jeep CJ-10, taken from the Jeep Owners Club Of Victoria
Here's another CJ-10, not sure where this picture came from, probably Australia. It has a really massive bumper on it, maybe to protect it from kangaroos. I think that'd be worse than hitting a deer!

This CJ-10 I seem to think is owned by a family member of a large Jeep dealer in the Southern US somewhere, but I'm not really sure. If you know, let me know!
