ALMS - Franz Konrad and Jan Lammers decided to place a lotus turbo V8 engine in a then new Lola B98 chassis to compete in the 1998 American Le Mans Series. On the dyno the engine ran strong, but in the cramped engine compartment of the Lola, combined with cooling problems and turbo inlet restrictors, the car ran poorly at the 24 hours of Daytona and 12 hours of Sebring. The engine was then replaced with a more reliable product. There are no future plans to run the turbo V8 lotus engine.

Speedvision GT - New for 2000, The lotus esprit is once again competing on american soil. The cars are the same ones that ran up front in the SCCA in the 1990's, so there's a bit of catching up to do. It is hoped that a modern esprit will be ready before season's end.

** Chrono has released four beautiful examples of the FIA GT Lotus GT1 racer. These are Die-cast metal in 1/18th scale, and come in a collectors box. The models are of the presentation car, Frank Muller watches car (Yellow), Benneton car (Green/Yellow/White), and the THAI car (white/purple/pink).
