This site is dedicated to the New England freight railroad, the Providence & Worcester. As I have grown up watching the P&W over the years I have witnessed many changes to the railroad. It has expanded from operating at a Class 3 level to Class 2. Where I used to live in Cranston I was able to see the railroad at work on the Pontiac Secondary, about 4 miles in length. Unfortunately in 1991 they abandoned the Pontiac Secondary, deeming it unprofitable. In 1990 the neighboring Washington Secondary which also ran through Cranston was also abandoned and has since been turned into a bicycle path. I have since moved to the East Providence Secondary for watching the P&W at work.. This site has many pictures of the P&W at various sightings.
