My name is Jason
White, and I am a recent graduate of the Center for Creative Studies
in Detroit (attended 1995-1999). My major was industrial design
with an emphasis on transportation design. I have been working as
a designer at Ford Motor Company for the past 6 months.
This site is an online
version of my school portfolio which I submitted to companies last spring.
This version highlights my various design projects at CCS as well as internship
projects outside of school.
Chrysler
Corporation Internship, Summer 1998.
This was a 14-week
program which teamed design students with engineering students to produce
the designs. With the help of Uof M student Mark Adams (now a Chrysler
engineer), I designed a niche product for Jeep which combined the markets
of specialized vehicles and consumer vehicles. (picture credit: Nightly

Kenworth
Cab-over Truck Project, Fall 1998.
This was a project
I pursued in conjuction with transportation design during my seventh semester.
The concept is a new cab-over semi truck which has many applications through
the use of modular design.
Michelin
Tire Design Competition, Fall 1998.
An annual competition
at CCS in which both a conceptual car and tire are presented by each senior
trans design student. I was honored to win first prize in tire design
and third prize in exterior design.
Mustang Interior Project, Fall 1998.
This Ford-sponsored
project focused on an interior for the 2005 Mustang. Exterior proposals
and Alias models were also addressed.
Sophomore
Transportation Design, Spring 1997.
A three-passenger
commuter vehicle for third-world nations, this product utilizes a motorcycle
drivetrain as well as suspension parts. It is designed to supplement
two-wheeled transportation in these nations.
Ford
2008 Project, Fall 1997.
Also a Ford-sponsored
project; a small SUV specifically aimed at the urbanite set and their crowded
environment.
Honda
Motorcycle Project, Fall 1996.
An entry-level Honda
v-twin motorcycle which focuses on balancing mechanical detail with fluidity
of form.
