he Association for Health Information & Libraries in Africa has as objectives to promote closer association among health information professionals in Africa. To promote a high standard of library practice for health information services, education and research in Africa. To work in close collaboration with the World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa and cooperate with national and international health organizations and learned societies in full mutual respect of their objectives. To participate in international activities in the field of health sciences information and to carry out other activities on which the General  Assembly agrees.
