Musical Resume
All began when I was 15, coming from a good musical culture family,
I had a the opportunity to ingress in a classic music school near from home.
In that time I was living in Santos (SP) and the school was named
"Mario de Andrade". It was placed about two blocks from our home. This way,
my piano classes was starting.
Early in the begin, I was distincted from the other students because this
gift which God gave me, the "Musical Perception", I confess I didn't resisted
a long time for that graduation system which was just able to get the course
conclusion after 11 years. So, this way, after 1 year, I gave the Standard
system up and then I followed my way studying alone, just me, my keyboard and my
books. This way I was becoming a self-learner musician.
The time was passing and I decided I should to continue this my ambition
in group. This way on 1981, I met a band which was looking for a keyboardist,
it name was "Macâmes". We had a good time togheter and we participated of
several activities in our city, There I learned the "To play in group philosoply".
Like that one, passing the time would come others as, "Nova Estação", "Farol de
Milha" and "Minoria Radical", which we've got to reach a important success in
our city (Santos). We was several weeks in the first position on the local radios
as "Radio Cultura" and "Rádio Guarujá". That time, everything happened in a
free way, no kind of professional must.
The history started to become serious when I was invited to join in a
famous big band named, "Internacional Betinho", begining at 1987 I felt I was
really in the way I always had dreamed , which was to be a "Professional Musician".
Really I think was that time which more I grew up musically. I had to read
better (staffs) and write too for the other musicians. I confess I had to
develop more my memory , because it was aproximately 60 songs performed by
presentation. Each presentation , was a party to me, really I felt as in a
family, because at the stage we had our own way to comunicate, sometimes the
stage looked like a sacred place and reserved for us. i was in this same
band I introduced the "sequencer" as a helper in our performances (In that
same time I was finishing my studies about Electronic e Computers).
At the end of 1989, I was presented to a A&R person (a kind of musical
manager) in São Paulo who invited me to join in a Band which was doing the
"Perla" Tournee in all the south america. This way I was jumping more steps
in my musical career. This time, I was starting to know what was really to do
a "Show", it was very different from to be in a Big Band . I felt it was a very
strong responsibility, it was needed to have the performance in perfect state
because it was just only 12 or 15 songs by show, and the show was the artist main
"Visit Card". During this same time I was studying Sequencers and Computer aided
musical softwares, it was joined this way my musical side to my technological knowledge.
The Best occurred even so in about 1990, when I was invited to join to the
most famous country duo here in my Country, named "Matogrosso & Mathias" as music
programmer and keyboardist. There I could show all my knowledge, since the computer
occupied 50% of the shows.
It was almost one year in rodeos contests, country parties, and TV's in all
the country. After the duo separation, at the end of 1990, I went to play with
"Mathias" who was joined to "Milionário" of the duo "Milionário e José Rico". We've
done some shows and we was on the TV's again .
Although this new union had during a little time, it was interesting the
shows we done.
At 1992 I was invited to join the female singer band named "Jayne",
once again, the show system was a old friend, "The Sequencers". While her career was
taking off, I was developing more my technical side , I was using several M.I.D.I.
systems, and at same time I was building my Home-Studio, which I use up to now.
After 2 years, when I decided to come back to musical studies , I left the
country scenario to get in a new style which was needed more dexterity. This way,
at the 1994 year, I went invited to join a Samba band called "Grupo Tempero",
once again a band from Santos city.
This year I had the opportunity to develop my arranger side, which it was
needed a wonderful creative soul. By the destiny, this same year the band reached
a national success with the hit "Vida de Amante". It was a year full of challenges
about the samba style of play,which was needed a better balance between the hands.
This same time, I was using my home-studio, to prepare and record several
local bands and jingles for the local radios.
After this, at the 1995 year, I was joining to the "Grupo Feitiço", which
was released by the famous singer of the band "Grupo Raça Negra", Luís Carlos.
The band was opening the "Raça Negra" Brazilian tourneé and also at the end
of year season at "Olímpia" in São Paulo.
At the 1996 year, I moved definitily to São Paulo city, bringing with me my
home-studio with the goal to do new works. In the middle of this same year I paticipated
as a arranger of the new Album about a arab singer.
I'm tranlating this document on 1998 November 22nd, so I wanna add it.
I stopped from participated of the music market because I've returned to my old
work which is C++ Programmer Analyst, but the music already is in a important position
in my life. I didn't desert it, I was just placed it on a hobby position, and someday,
(maybe next year) when I am professionally stabilished in the Industry Technology, I'll
be participating again. At least as a Song composer at my home.
