The HouseShakers is a five-member blues/rock band hailing from the Metro-Boston area. They perform covers of classic hit tunes by artists such as Bo Diddley, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Bare Naked Ladies and many, many more as well as a selection of their own tunes which have been recorded at Remle Studios on the South Shore.

Their sound has been described by music critic Marty Peters of Music Maker Publications as “a la The Hollies, Small Faces and Elvis Costello”.
The band’s latest EP ‘Picture Show’ has received favorable reviews. The most recent in the December 2003 issue of ‘Recording Magazine’ which described the disc thusly: “Close your eyes and you will hear the sound of a mono speaker blasting out of a ’62 Impala on a warm summer day.” and “After one listen the chorus was cycling around in our heads, and three hours later it was still there.”
At this writing, the band has begun composing new tunes for their follow-up release. They plan to return
to the recording studio in the fall of 2004 to begin production of the new CD scheduled to be ready for release in mid 2005. Although still being written, the next release promises to have that same ‘high-energy’ sound as ‘Picture Show’.
