This is a really great lesson for K-2. Everything you need in order to do this lesson with your class is on this site. It is a well-organized lesson plan for teachers, and it is also a really fun lesson for kids! It is a lesson that gets kids thinking about what they may want to be when they grow up. The class spends time brainstorming about jobs around the community, what skills are needed for these jobs, and what services or goods the jobs provide. Then they do an interactive site where the kids go and choose jobs they may like then dress characters they can print off and color. Then they talk about why they chose the jobs they did. It is a great way to start children’s awareness about their communities and what makes them work.
