Audrey Hardy

Audrey was a stewardess and certified nurse when she came to Port Charles to live with her older sister, Lucille March. She became a nurse at General Hospital. Audrey was engaged to Steve Hardy and married him. She became pregnant but later miscarried as a result of a car accident. She and Steve later divorced. Audrey then went to work with orphaned children in Vietnam for 6 months. Audrey married Dr. Tom Baldwin, brother of Lee, and became pregnant. The marriage didn't last. She filed for divorce, left town and gave birth to a son, Tom Baldwin, Jr. She came back to town claiming her baby had died, in truth the baby was living with a nanny. Audrey wanted to divorce Tom without going through a custody fight. Her secret was eventually found out and she got back with Tom. He and their nanny kidnapped Tom Jr., and left town. Months later the nanny returned with the baby claiming Tom had died in Mexico. The nanny turned up murdered and Audrey was charged with the crime, but later cleared of all charges. She married Dr. Jim Hobart, but the marriage turned out to be a disaster. Jim was a drunk and tormented Audrey to the point where she attempted suicide with an overdose of sleeping pills. After recovering she remarried Steve Hardy. Tom Baldwin showed up saying he had been in a Mexican jail all this time. After a custody fight, they agreed to divorce. She and Steve remarried legally. In 1993 she was severely beaten by Ryan Chamberlin. She recovered. Most recently she survived brain surgery after being attacked.

Jasper "Jax" Jacks

Jasper "Jax" Jacks is originally from Australia, but he and his family moved to Alaska. When Lois Ashton needed a corporate raider to get back at Edward Quartermaine, Mac Scorpio told Lois he only knew of one person ruthless enough to go against Edward and that was Jax. Mac had done some dangerous work for Jax and his brother Jerry, back in Australia, and hated him. Jax immediately became interested in Lois, but she was happily married at the time. She introduced to her good friend Brenda Barrett. Brenda asked Jax to help her make Sonny jealous, so Jax and Brenda spent a lot of time together. They soon became attracted to each other, but Brenda was still in love with Sonny. Jax proposed to her and when she realized their was no hope left for her and Sonny, she accepted. He and Brenda married on his yacht, but at the same time, Sonny's wife Lily was killed by a car bomb. When they returned to Port Charles, Brenda immediately went to see Sonny. Jax and Brenda still stayed married and planned to remarry in a ceremony at the Quartermaine mansion. Jax secretly was working with Tracy Quartermaine to take over ELQ. That secret was revealed, and Jax backed off with working with Tracy. On the day of their remarriage, Sonny who had been digging in Jax's past brought his presumed dead wife, Miranda to the Quartermaine mansion to confront Jax. Jax had hired Mac to bomb a building and unknown to both of them, Miranda was still inside. They assumed she died, but Jax's parents knew the truth. Miranda didn't want to burden Jax so she let him think she was dead. Her face had been badly disfigured, so she looked like a different person. Jax was torn between Miranda and Brenda, but realized he was in love with Brenda, but Brenda had decided to reunite with Sonny. When Sonny left Brenda at the alter, Jax was there to be by Brenda's side and eventually after trying to win his love again, he and Brenda became engaged.

Barbara Jean "B.J." Jones

B.J. was the daughter of Tony and Tania Jones. She was named after Bobbie Spencer, who helped deliver her. When B.J. was an infant her mother was killed by a car. Lucy Coe soon became her step-mother. Her father soon divorced Lucy, and when he married Bobbie Spencer, she gained an adoptive brother Lucas. B.J. led a normal childhood with her brother and her cousin, Maxie. In 1994, while on the school van, the van was hit by a drunk driver, and she was declared brain dead. Her father, Tony, donated her heart to save her cousin Maxie.

Lucas Jones

Lucas is the biological son of Cheryl Stansbury and Julian Jerome. His biological Aunt is Tiffany Hill (Cheryl's sister). Soon after Lucas was born, he was sold into the black market, while his Mother believe her child had died. Bobbie Spencer adopted him, unknown to her at the time that he was Cheryl's son. She soon married Tony Jones, and he gained a new father and a sister, B.J. Bobbie found out that Lucas was really Cheryl's son she kept the news to herself. Eventually the truth came out, and when he was 1½ years old he was returned to Cheryl. When he was just about 3, Cheryl died, and Tiffany brought Lucas to live with her and Sean. Cheryl, in her will had left Lucas to Bobbie and Tony. Lucas was the subject of a bitter custody battle, and he was awarded to Bobbie and Tony. Lucas lost his adopted sister, B.J., who died. Eventually his adopted parents, Bobbie and Tony divorced. He is currently living with his mother, and recently found out that Carly is Bobbie's daughter and Michael is Bobbie's grandson.

Jason Morgan Quartermaine

Jason was born to Alan Quartermaine and his mistress Susan Moore. After his Mother was killed, Monica let Alan bring him to their house and she raised him as her own son. After years at boarding school, Jason came back to Port Charles to attend high school. He planned to study medicine like his parents and began working on the teen help line at General Hospital with Robin Scorpio and Karen Wexler. Although Robin had a crush on him, he was interested in Karen Wexler. They started dating. One Summer he took Karen out on his family's boat, and they discovered Jagger Cates on board too. A sudden storm hit and they became shipwrecked on a deserted island. Unknown to them Cal Atkins and his brother, who both had escaped from jail, were also on the island. When Jason and Jagger caught Cal trying to attack Karen, they fought with him and Cal fell over a cliff. Jason, Jagger and Karen assumed they had killed Cal, but after they were rescued they kept quiet about it. Cal's brother began blackmailing them, and Jason stole his grandfather's rare coins to pay him off. Eventually the truth came out that they were being blackmailed, and that Cal was really alive. Jason and Karen continued seeing each other, although she was fighting an attraction to Jagger. Karen broke up with Jason to be with Jagger. Jason started to attend Port Charles University and started dating Keesha Ward. They even went to Paris for a romantic vacation. One evening, Jason's brother A.J. who was fighting a drinking problem was brought home by Justus Ward. Jason and his family confronted A.J., and when A.J. ran out, Jason took after him. Jason got in the car to try and stop A.J. was driving while drunk, but A.J. got in an accident and Jason flew out of the car head first. Jason suffered brain damage, and when he woke up he had no recollection of his past or his family. The only person he was friendly with was his cousin, Ned. He also became friendly with his sister Emily and his grandmother, Lila. The first night out of the hospital, he went to one of Ned's concerts, but after dealing with Keesha hanging all over him and A.J. bothering him, he threw a table over and went outside. There he met Sonny Corinthos who lent him money to get home. After several weeks of trying to deal with his family, he didn't remember and a fight with A.J. he took off. He met Robin Scorpio and they soon became friends. He also became friendly with Sonny Corinthos who helped him get a job at Luke's and became friends with Luke Spencer and Mike Corbin. Eventually Jason started working for Sonny and starting dating Robin. Unknown to Robin, Jason met Carly Roberts at a bar one night, and they started to have a sexual only relationship. Before Robin left for Yale, he admitted to Robin about him and Carly. Jason started getting deeper and deeping in Sonny's organization, and one night when he was with Robin at her house, he was shot. Robin couldn't deal with another person she loved getting killed by violence and she broke up with him. When Sonny left Port Charles to protect Brenda, Jason took over his organization. One night when Carly, who was 8 months pregnant, showed up at his doorstep, he took her in. She had just broken up with Tony Jones. Carly asked Jason if she could tell everyone he was the father of her baby, even thought it wasn't true. He said he wouldn't deny it, but he wouldn't lie and admit it either. Everyone, except Robin, thought Jason was the father, although blood tests showed A.J. was really the father. Robin knew Jason wasn't the father, and Jason admitted everything to her. After Carly left, Jason had the baby baptized and name him Michael. Carly came back on the day of the christening, and until Michael was kidnapped by Tony, they seemed like a one big happy family. They eventually got Michael back. Jason has recently retired from running the organization.

Dr. Alan Quartermaine

Dr. Alan Quartermaine came to Port Charles from Southhampton at the request of Dr. Steve Hardy. He soon decided to stay permanently in Port Charles and started to fall for Dr. Monica Webber, although she still had feelings for Rick. Alan had previously been a surgeon, but because of a hand injury he had to change to General Practice. Monica fell in love with him too and they soon married. During one of their many separations, Monica got back with Rick, but she and Alan eventually reconciled. Monica became pregnant, but Alan was unaware that there was a chance that Rick Webber may be the father. Alan, Jr. was born and at first everyone believed he was Rick's son. Later extensive blood tests proved Alan was the father. Monica still had feelings for Rick and Alan began planning ways to seek revenge on both Rick and Monica. He tried to kill them twice but ended up saving their lives and getting injured himself. Soon Alan began an affair with Susan Moore. Susan became pregnant and when Monica found out she filed for divorce. Susan gave birth to their son, Jason. Monica and Alan eventually reunited and when Susan was killed, Monica accepted Jason into their house and raised him as her own son. Alan faked his death, moved to a different town, assumed a different name, and began an affair with Charity Gatlin. Monica soon discovered he was still alive, found him and he returned to Port Charles. Alan began an affair with Lucy Coe and he and Monica divorced. He married Lucy but that marriage didn't last long. Eventually he and Monica remarried again. He befriended Rhonda Wexler, mother of Jason's girlfriend Karen. Although he and Rhonda were just friends, Monica assumed they were having an affair. After finding Ray Conway beating Rhonda, Alan accidently killed him, then covered up his role in the death. He and good friend Bobbie Spencer almost had an affair but they both stopped themselves at the last minute. Alan and Monica adopted their friend's Paige's daughter, Emily after Paige died. More recently Alan has had to deal with his wife's affair and sexual harrasment suit with Dr. Pierce Dorman, his son A.J.'s alcoholism, Jason's brain injury and Emily's drug problem, and his battling his own drug addiction.

Alan "A.J." Quartermaine, Jr.

When A.J. was born, his mother Monica, wasn't sure if Rick Webber or her husband Alan was his father. At first blood tests showed he was Rick's son, but later more extensive blood tests proved he was Alan's son. A.J. was born with a heart defect and had to have open heart surgery as an infant. He spent most of his schooling in boarding schools. When he was caught cheating at his last boarding school, he came home to Port Charles. A.J. attended Port Charles University and set up an illegal loan-sharking operation. He also drank too much. He then had an affair with a much older, Nancy Eckert. After she was killed, he was one of the suspects. A.J. got arrested for drunk driving. He then fell for Nikki Langton, even though she was suing Monica for malpractice because of her father's (and Monica's ex-lover's) death. After a night of drinking he and Nikki went for a ride and he crashed the car into a tree. Nikki was injured, but lied and told the police she was driving. He and Nikki got engaged, despite his parents objections. On their wedding day, Alan offered Nikki 1 million dollars to not marry A.J., so she left before the wedding. A.J. got drunk in his car in the garage while it was still on, and passed out. Alan and Monica assumed he was trying to kill himself, he then went into a rehab center. When A.J. came back home, he decided to track down Nikki. He found her, but she had gotten married to someone else. A.J. started drinking again. He met Keesha Ward and became interested in her, although she fell for his brother, Jason. A.J. started working for the Charles Street Foundation. One night after heavily drinking, Justus Ward drove him home. He had a big arguement with his family, and stormed out of the house. Jason went after him and they got into Lois' new car. A.J. crashed the car, seriously injuring his brother. Ned found them and took the blame and hid A.J. at his house. A.J. woke up the next morning and found out what happened. He swore he would stop drinking, but couldn't. He and Keesha got closer, when Jason didn't remember anyone or anything from his past. A.J. and Keesha starting dating. One night after he told the press the truth he ran into Carly Roberts, and after they both had been drinking, they made love. A.J. had no recollection of his night with Carly. A.J. started to turn his life around and became a member of the city council. That didn't last long. Keesha broke up with him. Carly was afraid he'd remember their night together, so she set it up so it looked like he'd been drinking. A.J. resigned from the City Council. Eventually he found out the truth, and also found out he could possibly be the father of Carly's child. When Carly had her baby, she lied and told both A.J. and Tony that Jason was the father. A.J. believed he wasn't the father, because he misread the blood tests.

Emily Bowen Quartermaine

Emily is the daughter of Frank and Paige Bowen. Her father died when she was a young child. She lived with her Mom, Paige, in Arizona and that is where they met Monica Quartermaine. Paige was attending the same Wellness Center, that Monica was attending while recovering from cancer. Paige found out her cancer had reoccured, and Monica suggested that she and Alan take care of Emily if Paige should die. Paige and Emily came to Port Charles to see how life in the Quartermaine household was. While in Port Charles, Paige became sicker, and she asked if Monica and Alan would adopted Emily after her death. While in Port Charles, Emily became friends with Lucky Spencer. After her Mom's death, Emily wasn't sure if the Quartermaine household was the place she wanted to live, so she and Lucky went across the country to track down her Aunt, Paige's sister. They never could track her down and eventually were discovered and came back to Port Charles. Emily agreed she wanted to be adopted by Alan and Monica. She became friends with another guy, named Matt, and began doing drugs and drinking with him. Unknown to her, Pierce Dorman was using Matt to get to the Quartermaines to get back at Monica. Matt got copies of Emily's diaries in exchange for drugs from Pierce. One night, Emily took drugs, she got out on the roof and wanted to fly, she was saved by Ned, Jax and Jason, and eventually recovered, although her friend Matt died of an overdose and she eventually found out Pierce Dorman was behind everything. Emily attends Port Charles High School and is the godmother of Michael.

Lila Quartermaine

Lila Morgan Tolliver Quartermaine is the matriarch of the Quartermaine family. She has been married to Edward for over 50 years, and has stayed with him through his affairs, secrets, and dirty business practices. She seems to be the only one who can keep him in line. Lila has two children, Alan and Tracy; 5 grandchildren, Ned, A.J., Jason, Emily, and Dillon; and 2 great-grandchildren, Michael and Brooke Lynn. When the Quartermaine's money was stolen and they ended up broke, the Quartermaine's were forced to move into rooms above Kelly's diner. Lila and her maid, Stella, began selling a secret family recipe of relish, which they called "pickle-lila". She made lots of money. Lila's first husband, Crane Tolliver, came to town with the secret that their divorce was never finalized, making her marriage to Edward invalid. He teamed up with Susan Moore to blackmail the Quartermaine's, but he ended up killing Susan and then getting killed himself. Lila and Edward legally married each other. When Edward was presumed dead after a plane crash, Lila began talking with him to his portrait. Two years later, Lila was overjoyed when he was discovered alive and had just regained his memory after suffering from amnesia. Lila hired Brenda Barrett has her personal assistant, and when Brenda's sister moved out of town, Lila invited her to live with them. Lila is always pleasant and gracious to everyone, except when Katherine Bell came into their lives. She was blackmailing the family to marry Ned, but the final straw was when Katherine hit Lila's dog, Annabel. Lila yelled at her and called her vulgar. Lila gained a grand-daughter, when Alan and Monica adopted Emily. Lila enjoys it when Luke Spencer flirts with her. Recently she's had to deal with her grandson Jason's near fatal accident, Emily's drug overdose, and A.J.'s alcohol problem. She still keeps Edward in line.

Dr. Monica Quartermaine

Monica Bard Webber came to General Hospital soon after Medical School as an Intern. She was married to Dr. Jeff Webber at the time. She began an affair with Rick Webber, brother of Jeff, separated from Jeff and soon after Jeff found out and he tried to commit suicide. She reconciled with Jeff and broke it off with Rick, but ultimately she and Jeff divorced. Monica met Alan Quartermaine and soon the two became a couple and were married. During one of their separations she got together with Rick Webber again and they slept together. She and Alan reconciled and soon after she discovered she was pregnant. Monica believed the child she was carrying was Rick's. She went into premature labor during a snowstorm and gave birth at the Quartermaine Mansion with the help of Dr. Lesley Webber and Bobbi Spencer. While still dilerious, Monica admitted to Lesley (who was Rick's wife at the time) she was having Rick's baby. At first the blood test results showed the baby was Rick's, but more extensive blood tests proved he was Alan's. When Monica discovered Alan was having an affair with Susan Moore and had given birth to Alan's son, Jason, Monica divorced him. At first she didn't want Jason in her home, but after Susan's death, she changed her mind and adopted Jason and raised and loved him as if he were her own child. Over the years, she and Alan have divorced and remarried each other several times over the years. During these periods she has had affairs with Sean Donely, a Frenchman named Phillipe, and even Ned Ashton, although he was going by the name Ward at the time and they didn't know each other's true identities. Before her marriages, she had an affair with David Langton, which produced a daughter, Dawn, whom she gave up for adoption. Years later they found each other, but Dawn died soon after. More recently Monica has recovered from breast cancer. She and Alan adopted her good friend's daughter, Emily, after Emily's Mother died of cancer. She recently was sued for sexual harrasment by her former lover, Pierce Dorman. She ended up kidnaping Pierce, and forced him to admit all of his lies. He eventually was killed.
