CORBIN'SCOMMENTS

On his Mission to Australia

  • "I am really excited!! … Everything here in Australia is great. The country is beautiful and the people are awesome. It's hard work, but it's definitely worth it … I am having a hard time imagining a HOT Christmas ... I will miss the movie business, but I will be back... and this was the right thing for me to do."

How Corbin wants to be viewed
  • "I don't want to be thought of as being any different than any other missionary out there. We're all out here for the same purpose."

On other's opinions

  • "I have an open mind and I respect people's opinions of me and of the things that I do. [But] if someone doesn't respect you because of your beliefs, then you weren't in need of that person's respect anyway."

On his friends in school
  • "Going to school … I'd have to really look deep into people because people would want to be my friends just because I was an actor. So I would have to make sure that [they] were really my true friends … I want people to like me because I'm me and I have a personality and I'm just a normal kid like everybody else, not because I'm an actor."

On people's reactions to his work
  • "I want people to be moved … I want my work to be able to help people out, for people to be entertained and have enjoyment and happiness. [It's a wonderful thing] if I can make somebody laugh who was crying ten minutes ago."

Corbin's own reactions to his work
  • "I'm really overly critical of myself … I don't enjoy watching myself because I recognize things that I would have or should have done differently."

On his mission

  • "I am trying my best to make an impact on people's lives … and have an open mind and open heart to people and have them influence me in good ways."

On sign language
  • "Sign language is an absolutely beautiful language. It's just like French or German. It's very different, but it's just as beautiful."

On Kirk Douglas
  • "I learned so much from him and grew so close to him. There was a real grandfather/ grandson love that we had even off the set. I look to him for guidance … how I should do things. I wanted him to be proud of me."

On rock climbing
  • "I think [rock climbing is] the best sport there is … it's very exhilarating… You're with nature. That's my favorite thing, being out with nature. There's too much destruction of natural beautiful things that God put here for a reason."

On Corbin's mom
  • "My mom is the #1 person who's given me inspiration. When I listen to ['The Wind Beneath My Wings'] I can only think of my mom because she's always been there, and always been the one to uplift me and make me do my best. She's never led me astray. The biggest blessing that I have in my life is that I have a family that loves me, and my mom especially. I'm the most blessed kid in the world to have a mom like her. She only wants what's best for me. I love her to death."

On whether Corbin will act for the rest of his life
  • "I do [expect to act my whole life.] Even if it's not in the same sense as I am acting now, I would love to continue to do plays. Who knows what my career has in store … it will always be one of my passions [because] I love to act."

Corbin's most important things
  • "The most important things in my life are family, being kind to one another, and having charity for everybody."

How Corbin views his fans
  • "I want people to know that I'm grateful for my fans. I'm grateful for the people that care about me and support me in my career and my decisions. I wish I could meet them all, but I know I can't. I wish I could give them all a hug and say 'Thank you' for your support. Sometimes it's the support of others that keeps you going. Sometimes when you're down in the dumps, and not feeling good about yourself, and you feel like you're not having any success, it's the support and strength of your family, friends, or in my case fans that keeps you going."

What gives Corbin inspiration
  • "Most inspiration I get is through letters from my family and friends. I get inspiration from people that I meet. I look at every person that I meet, and try to find something I need to learn from them or a good quality that I need to emulate."

Do Nice Guys Finish Last?
  • "You can be cool and still be a good person. You can be successful and still be a nice person. You can have morals and still be respected."
