Only Human

She lived with expectations
with every day she’d strive
to earn their false acknowledgment
to let her pride survive

Until the day she barely failed
but her castle disappeared
With their looks of disappointment
faded the scent of pride she’d bear

They did not see her anymore
and her assureness was forever lost
one mistake to break her down
and scare her with it’s cost

She left them in their ignorance
finished what they began
In unawareness till they found her gone
with a single note; I am only human

She lived with expectations
with every day she’d strive
to earn their false acknowledgment
but she did not survive

she was only human...
