Nightingale
As darkness haunts my withered soul
in the night of my mind I walk alone
among tall and enclosing thoughts.
Then suddenly I am caught
by the song of a Nightingale
that breaks my heart.
The darkness does not
affect the little creature
carried by the winds of Life's fire.
Such a beautiful tune that fills every
corner and place that stood empty
in the shadow of myself.
Oh Nightingale you songs survives
through long, cold nights
and dusky mornings.
I wish my thoughts of Love could live
like your melody, Nightingale,
so strong and clear.
Such a vital, yet obscure song my spirit could sing
as a sign, a lasting tune
that signifies all that I can be.
