Melancholy in disguise

Come look for love in my dark heart
and face the frightening endless part

yes, come look for life in my black eyes
and see how truth will fall and rise

I threw away the brave wisdom in life’s love
and pretended to be a wounded dove

Cowardly I made the blood be shed
of my innocent childhood sleeping in its bed

Tiptoed to the edge of nowhere
just for my senses to catch my insanity’s fear

Distorted heart, distorted mind
I left all good advice behind

Where is love and what is this life of hidden lies
I say plain melancholy in disguise
