- in my opinion one of the most understated actors ever
- some of my favourite movies with him are "MASH" (1970), "Alien" (1979), "Wisdom" (1986), "Poltergeist III." (1988) and "Contact" (1997)
- I also liked him very much as Sheriff James (Jimmy) Brock in the TV hit series "Picket Fences"
