- I liked him most in "The Silence of the Lambs" (1990), "The Remains of the Day" (1993), "Legends of the Fall" (1994) and "Hannibal" (2001)
- is married to Jennifer Lynton since 13. January 1973
- was married to Petronella Barker (1968 - 1972, divorced)
- has a daughter, Abigail (* 1968) with Barker
- his parents are Richard Arthur Hopkins (died 30. March 1981) and Muriel Hopkins (* 1913)
- in March 2001 he took his 88 year old mother to a first class trip to Las Vegas for a Siegfried & Roy show, after she told her son, she always wanted to see a show of the two magicians
- Hopkins renounced his knighthood on 12. April 2000 when he took his dual britsh/USA citizenship but is still allowed to use the "Sir" in England
- on "Larry King Live" (18. July 1998), Sir Anthony Hopkins said, that Kevin Bacon is one of his favourite actors
- Hopkins was knighted in 1993 and received the title "Sir" for his performing skills
