- I liked him most in "California Suite" (1978) and as Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable on the TV hit series "The Cosby Show" (1984)
- he´s married to Camille Hanks since 25. January 1964
- has 5 children with Camille: Erika Ranee, Erinn Chalene, Ensa Camille, Evin Harrah and Ennis William (deceased)
- on 16. January 1997 Ennis Cosby (age: 27) was shot while fixing a flat tire off the San Diego Freeway
- Bills brother James died at the age of only 7 years...Bill was 8 years old at that time
- Bill has a brother, Russell
- Bill earned a doctorate in education (Ed.D) in 1977 from University of Massachusetts
