In BANDITS, starring Katja Rieman ( Emma ), Jasmin Tabatabai ( Luna ), Jutta Hoffmann ( Marie ) and Nicolette Krebitz ( Angel ), four women form a band in prison ( and they are awesome ). When they are asked to play at the annual PoliceBall the opportunity arises and they make a run for it.
Escaping with a Police car, they begin to enjoy their new found freedom. But it doesn't last long. Without money and hunted by the Police problems start to rise as everyone of them has a different idea of what they should do. Marie, slightly mentally unstable, who was jailed for the murder of her husband ( In Germany ya get life in prison...no death penalty ), just wants to see her husband ( I think she remarried but I'm not sure ). Luna, convicted for robbery and assault, is aggressive and can't stand Emma, the "new girl" and doesn't hide it. Angel on the other hand , arrested for exploiting her husbands ( whatever the legal term for that is in English ), is scared.
When the four Jailbirds finally agree to get out of Germany by ship, something unexpected happens. They hear on of their songs on the radio. Didn't the music producer, Gold ( Peter Sattmann ), reject them? The four decided to pay the guy a visit and leave with 50.000 Mark cash in their hands ( you can calculate how much that is in $ if ya want to ).
But with fame there comes trouble. The Police get closer and closer. So Marie decides maybe they should take a hostage. Which they straight away do. Unfortunately the hostage, a good looking American ( that Hugo Boss model...Werner Schryer ), does not only bring along his boxers ( from the movie...don't worry if ya don't get it ). And the hunt for the fugitives continues...
