My parents 50th anniversary was August of 1996. I
made this quilt for their anniversary using ideas presented in Wendy Etzel's "Collectibles
Quilt". The photos were transferred to fabric by PhotoTextiles in
Bloomington Indiana. I included my parents wedding pictures and a variety of
old and new family pictures. The various mementos: pestle, microphone & license
plate, card, sewing basket and flowers have special meaning to our family.

I made this quilt for one of my sisters for her
birthday. I used Jinny Beyer's Soft Edge Piecing techniques and applied it
to my own design. The soft edges don't show up as well as I would have liked but I
like the quilt anyway. (Machine pieced, hand appliqued. Hand quilted.) |

This is a quilt that I made for my mother for her
birthday a couple of years back. The pattern for the central blocks came from
either a Traditional Quiltworks or Quilting Today issue from about 4
years ago. I added my own design for border and quilting. (Machine pieced,
hand appliqued. Hand quilted). |

This is a quilt I call Flower Bed that I made for
myself. The idea came from a Miniature Quilts magazine but the interpretation,
full size quilt and flower styles in particular,
is my own. (Machine pieced and appliqued. Hand quilted) |

The Hippie Vans quilt was made in response to a NW
Quilter's challenge of 1997. We were each given sample book pages of decorator
fabrics then challenged to make a quilt for charity. My samples were paisley and
coordinating prints in a variety of colors. One fabric in particular reminded me of
the way that 'hippies' painted their vans in the early 70s. So I designed this quilt.
It won first place in the challenge and was then donated to American Business
Women's Association auction. (Machine pieced and appliqued. Machine quilted) |

I like the look of the twisted cabin block so I drafted
and sewed this wall quilt. (Machine pieced. Machine quilted). |

I call this quilt Indian Star. The design came
from either a Traditional Quiltworks or Quilting Today magazine. I
guess I should look these things up. The design is a variation in setting of the
Delectable Mountain block. (Machine pieced, hand quilted) |
