Minutes for the February 9th, 2000 Meeting

We missed you at the meeting Wednesday. We discussed the following:

HISTORIANS: we decided that anytime we go to an event (YFDLA of course),

whoever has a camera will take pictures, develop them, and then hopefully

share them at the next meeting. We can have doubles so that we can donate

some to YFDLA. We figured that we could once in a while have "scrapbooking"

meetings and put the pictures together. This will be fun. We figured Carla

was our noted historian and Veronica's status has been questionable, due to

not hearing from her yet. We know she's extremely busy.

CENTERPIECES: at the Centennial celebration were great. They were great

conversation starters and we heard nice remarks about them.

T-SHIRTS: Joe Waterford sold his printing business but is still going to

print our t-shirts before the muster. If anyone wanted to order them, it

wasn't too late as of Wednesday, but I don't know about today. They can call

Carla and find out.

MUSTER: is on Feb. 26th. Lee came to our meeting and briefly spoke about

the help they would like from us. They needed 5 booths manned (or wommaned)

by us: beer, soda, food, mini muster, and a bouncy thingy jumper for kids.

After serious discussion, we decided we didn't have enough enrolled members

to commit to all of these booths, as we also want a chance to enjoy the

muster ourselves.

With the 5 booths, we would have needed about 40 of us to do the job!!! Too

much, especially when we only have 20 something members. I spoke to Lee and

asked hiim to get the guys to man the mini muster and jumper for kids.

Besides, the kids would rather see Firemen doing these activities.

Barbie was going to print out flyers to go in all paychecks today, asking

for help from spouses, for these booths. We need a lot of help. We need to

be at the booths from 9 AM to 4 PM. (That's 7 hrs X 3 booths @ 2 hr.

increments, 2 people per booth). HELP!!!

We also think it would be a good idea to forward this information to email

addresses that we have on our members. So if you would please send me a copy

of those addresses, I'll forward the info. to them.

I hope this is of some help to you. We were also hoping that you could post

the recruitment for help at these booths on the Web Page. I might have left

something out, but hopefully this is enough.

Thanks, Amanda Stoermer
