All were born in Cabell County, WV.
This is all I know about his youth.
He married Elizabeth Mays, the daughter of Hamilton Mays and Nancy Stanley. Her home was in the head of Two Mile Creek of Mud River.
Wayne and Elizabeth in there early years lived in the area that is now the Esquire Country Club on Heath Creek Road , a few miles from Barboursville WV. Several of their children are burried there in the Davidson Cemetery. They lived in this area until the late 1800s.
There last home was on the Mays land where Elizabeth was born.
They lived there at least 25 yrs. and probably 35 yrs.
The foundation stones and a few rotten logs is all that remains of their home.
I know little about them except a elderly relative does remember them as a child and showed me their burial place in the Mays Cemetery.
She also provided me with the photo of Elizabeth on this page. Another lady said when she was a little girl she was playing and ran into a bearded old man who frightened her. She ran home only to have her mother tell her it was old Uncle Wayne, he was picking berries.
I hope to find more info as I contact other family members but for now this is all I have.
