    Welcome to my old backyard.
I'm was located in Port McNicoll, Ontario CANADA.  That is located on the south eastern tip of Georgian Bay, which is part of Lake Huron. Port McNicoll is about 150 kilometers north of the city of Toronto and has a population of about 1100.  It is considered a rural area consisting of wetlands, farmland and forested areas.
We host quite a variety of birds throughout the year.  We got migratory visitors on stop over and others who come only for the winter.  Of course we also had a wide range of year round regulars.  This site will introduce you to the birds that I have spotted in my backyard and also some I have seen in the area of my home.

We use "A Guide to Field Identification Birds of North America" from Golden Press to identify the birds we spot.  The edition we have is copyright © 1983, ISBN 0-307-33656-5.
