Accommodations: This chalet (Luxury Cabin) features two-split levels, with two bedrooms and one full bathroom/spa in the lower levels and two bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the upper level. It accommodates up to 15 guests with the 2 sleeper sofas and cots. The expansive deck at tree level gives the impression of being in a tree house. You'll enjoy sitting out there in the shade or in full sun listening to the many birds that live in the trees and the rustling of the leaves in the breeze.

Built in 2003 and finished in Jan 2006, this 2500-square-foot chalet dubbed "Summer Springs"--in honor of the springs that sprout on its northeast corner in the summer, offers 2 split-levels of beautiful surroundings and views seen through the huge picture windows on all floors. The top level, main floor contains the master bedroom with a queen bed and private master bathroom with a relaxing Jacuzzi bathtub. If you wake up early enough, you'll see deer grazing in the clearing right across from the sliding glass door in the master bedroom. Three cots can be found in the walk-in closet of the master bedroom along with games, puzzles, books, and more! A second bedroom/study is also located on this level and is furnished with a full futon bed. Feel free to enjoy books and magazines from the bookcase. Local informational brochures can also be found on the shelves. Another full bath is also on this level with a laundry center for your convenience.

The main level offers a warm living and dining area, and great winter views of Cacapon Mountain. There is satellite television with integrated DVD/VCR player and a portable CD and tape stereo player. Sliding glass doors lead to the spacious deck in the trees where you can sit and enjoy the many birds that fly across the property, and, if you are there at the right time, you'll see hummingbirds feeding on the flowers on the deck--a wonderful sight. A fully equipped kitchen on the main floor includes a dishwasher and microwave, coffee maker, waffle maker... A regular sized charcoal grill and a mini charcoal grill are also available. Downstairs, the family room with a full span of picture windows and a sliding glass walkout door offers excellent views of nature. The family room also has a game table (that extends to sit 10,) a full sofa bed and a day bed with a trundle bed. The third and fourth bedrooms are located at this level and they feature twin beds with pull outs (4 beds). Up 4 steps, and at this level you will find the third full bathroom. There is a 7-person Hot tub that will be available early next year.

Location: Summer Springs is located in the beautiful Cacapon South community near Berkeley Springs, WV. The community was voted "Best Development of the Year" by the West Virginia Homebuilder's Association a few years back. It is centrally located between Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania and is less then two hours from Washington, DC, with easy access to Hwy 522 and 9, and Routes 70 and 81. Routes 7, 66, and 50 also take you there through Winchester.

It is directly across from 6000-acre Cacapon State Park (also known as Cacapon Resort), which offers a beautiful 18-hole Robert Trent Jones golf course, more than 20 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, swimming, fishing, paddleboats, picnic areas, basketball courts, tennis, a restaurant and recreation center. The chalet is also minutes from the historic town of Bath, also known as Berkeley Springs, where you can "take the waters" as George Washington used to do at the Berkeley Springs State Park. Here you will enjoy its natural mineral baths, and excellent massages. There are several other spas that offer a wide range of health and beauty treatments (check the brochures on the bookcase.) Berkeley Springs is a very eclectic town where you can find excellent local art, natural soaps and medicines, a unique homeopathic pharmacy, coffee shops where the coffees offered rival those of Starbucks, a few antique shops and an antique mall, and good food from the very gourmet to your regular pizza parlor. Nearby, the "The Woods" resort provides amenities such as spas, fitness center/gym, indoor swimming, entertainment, sledding, and restaurants. For ski lovers, the chalet is just a 40-minute drive to White Tail and other ski locations. Other popular sights and activities include the C&O Canal Towpath, Rails to Trails, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon and Potomac River float trips, canoeing, kayaking, Civil War Battlefields, and nearby historic Harper's Ferry. Lest we forget, close by are also Hagerstown with its outlet mall, and in the other direction, Charles Town with the casinos.
