Henry Faggard was born 1760 in South Carolina. He may be related to Valentine Faggart of North Carolina. The name is spelled earlier FAGGART and FEGAR, FEGART a french name.

However the name is spelled FAGGARD in Alabama and Mississippi.

Henry married Catherine and lived in South Carolina. The two brothers, Daniel and John G Faggard are the only known children of Henry Faggard of South Carolina.

It appears that Henry came to AL.! The two sons were in the Washington Co. AL., area. Daniel lived in Alabama John came farther west and settled in Jackson Co. MS.

John Faggard born 1802 SC., and died after 1850 in Jackson Co. MS. No marriage date is known for John but it is believed he married in AL., about 1832 to Lucinda Denny. She was born 1810 in Georgia and died September, 1849 Jackson Co.

John is listed in the 1850 Census of Jackson Co. and listed as 48 years old and born SC. His oldest daughter Catherine carried the name of his mother was 16 years old and born in AL. She was the only child born in AL. All others were born in MS.

John married Lucinda Denny born 1810 Jackson Co., and died 1849.

William E. Faggard, born 13 March, 1837 Jackson Co. died 20 April, 1884 Jackson Co. and is buried in Johnson Co. in Wade, MS.

William married Susannah Graham, daughter of Joseph Graham and wife Nancy Lyons Graham. She was born 16 January, 1844 Jackson Co. and died 24 March, 1926.

The Faggard's live on the old Faggard home. It was orginally owned by Jack Graham who settled on a spanish land grant of 318 acres of land in 1813. He was a bachelor.

The old wire Road that once ran to Graham's Ferry passed by the Faggard house and many travelers stopped and spent the night at the "Old Faggard Home". When Andrew Jackson rushed from Pensacola to New Orleans to fight Packehem, it is said that he and his soldiers camped for the night with Graham, and that the General himself slept in what was then the new log house. William E. Faggard, a member of the Twiggs Rifles during the war between the States, later came into possession of the place and his home was known far and wide as a refuge for wayfarers and travelers. Daniel Faggard

Daniel was born between 1770 and 1780 in South Carolina; died 15 June, 1844 in AL. He married Martha who may be a sister to Henry Wells who went to Jackson Co. MS. Notice a son was named Henry Wells Faggard.

The 1850 Census of Mobile Co. AL., page 472 shows a Martha Faggard as head of household. She was born in SC., and listed as being 70 years old. Living in her household is a son Henry Faggard age 41 years born in SC., and Sarah thought to be Henrys wife.

They had eight known children:

Ransom Faggard was born 1822 Baldwin Co. AL. He married 5 December, 1844 Washington Co. AL., to Rhoda Allen daughter of Joseph Allen and wife Rhoda (surname not known) of Sumter Co. AL.

Ransom is listed on the 1850 Census in Mobile Co.
