Elvis Aaron Presley was born on January 8,1935 in Tupelo,Mississippi. Born to Gladys and Vernon Presley in a one room house.Elvis had a twin brother that died at birth named Jesse Garon Presley. On his 10th, birthday he asked for a bycicle, his parents couldn't afford it, so they bought him a guitar. Elvis's family moved to Memphis,Tn. when Elvis was 12 years old. He graduated form Humes High School in 1953. After graduating he worked various jobs. He got his big break from cutting a record for Sam Philips at Sun Records in 1955. Colonel Tom Parker became his manager and switched to RCA record label.
Elvis got his big break by cutting a record for his mother's birthday. Elvis's first big hit was released on January 27th 1956. Heartbreak Hotel sells over 300,000 copies in 3 weeks and becomes his first gold record. March 1957 Elvis bought Graceland for $100,000. On March 24th 1958 Elvis is inducted into the US Army. On August 14th 1958 Elvis's beloved mother(Gladys) dies at the age of 46.
Elvis ment Pricilla while stationed in Germany in November 1959.Elvis was discharged from the Army on March 5th 1960.Elvis and Priscilla were married on May 1st 1967 at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. Lisa Marie Presley was born on February 1st 1968.
Elvis and Pricilla were divorced on October 9th 1973.Elvis's last concert was in Indianapolis, In. on June 26th 1977.On August 16th 1977 Elvis dies at Graceland,fans from around the world mourn.
